Over crowded?

I have a 33 gallon tank, it's new. I was told 4 fancies would be fine, but I'm reading more and more that it might be a little overcrowded by about one. Now, I'd rather upgrade the tank, than get rid of any of the fish. But it may be some time before I can afford to go up to say a 50 gallon. Am I ok leaving the fish for now in the 33 gallon? Or should I give one of them a new home?

Keep in mind I do a 30% water change weekly, with a 70 gallon filter.

Definetely an upgrade would be better but they should be fine for now. But do it as soon as you are able to.

I agree, upgrade when you can. I would do more water changes as well, maybe 30% biweekly with another small filter.

Cool, thanks. I'll upgrade the tank sometime after I do my taxes. I'll likely go for something bigger than a 60 gallon. For now I'll just add the extra filter, and keep up the water changes.

Yes they are fine for now so dont worry just upgrade when it suits you best to do so.

Another question. If I'm buying a new tank used, how should I clean it?

There are aquarium safe wipes, but I just use vinegar and then spray it down with a hose really well.

That's great! 75 G. is a great tank size and should be fine for 4 fancies!
