Wal-mart strikes again...

:screwy: People sure do like to over react.

Nice fish! And I'm sorry to hear about the lose of your furbaby. I can't imagine my life without my dog.

As for walmart fish I recently got some cichlids against my better judgment. So far they are doing well and are very healthy.
That is a beautiful koi, I found one at walmart years ago that was a butterfly. He was white, orange and black and got huge. I was heartbroken when he jumped out of my parent's pond.

I am not talking about the lose of a "family member". Losing a parent is the way of life. It is the natural cycle of life. Losing a sibling or even a spouse would be one level up. But losing a child is at the top of the pyramid and only someone who doesn't have children can perhaps try to equate the lose of a dog to the lost of their child.

If your parents will be more upset about the lose of their pet dog than if you, their child, were to die, and that everyone in this forum feels the same way (since so far the voting is running against me), then indeed I have dropped down the rabbit hole and feel like Alice.

Please realize, I didn't say it hurts MORE to loose a dog than a child. What I'm saying is that it hurts deeply and that, yes, it may hurt some people as much as others are hurt if they loose a child. It's not for anyone else to quantify or limit another person's emotions.

Bettagurl, I agree with everyone -- very cool fish and I'm happy you go thim :)

Been about two weeks I believe... He's gotten noticeably healthier and filled out.

Yes' he's quite the pig actually.. Picked up some high quality koi pellets as well as him eating veggies (he loves a bit of orange though)... Made him a jello out of mixed pellets and veggies.

I very nearly bagged up his tankmate as well, but that fish looked well on his way out...

Very pretty little guy.

The sad part about having animals is you lose them every so often. Lost a beautiful sarasa that female that was just getting up to size a couple of weeks back. Pretty depressing. Sadly with any pet eventually they pass on. They kind of have to in order to make room for little babies like the one you picked up though :).

Hopefully you can get him healthy enough let him grow to turn into a 2'+ monster in time.

Nice goldie!

Bob, this is a butterfly koi, not goldfish.lmao

BG, I know what you mean! Koi tend to be sturdy and seem to handle so much abuse. It's a shame most tend to suffer and go downhill eventually. It's good to hear though he seems doing well.
