I am not talking about the lose of a "family member". Losing a parent is the way of life. It is the natural cycle of life. Losing a sibling or even a spouse would be one level up. But losing a child is at the top of the pyramid and only someone who doesn't have children can perhaps try to equate the lose of a dog to the lost of their child.
If your parents will be more upset about the lose of their pet dog than if you, their child, were to die, and that everyone in this forum feels the same way (since so far the voting is running against me), then indeed I have dropped down the rabbit hole and feel like Alice.

BG, I know what you mean! Koi tend to be sturdy and seem to handle so much abuse. It's a shame most tend to suffer and go downhill eventually. It's good to hear though he seems doing well.
