Seachem flourish tabs? Anyone use these?

I have been using them for the past 2 years. They seem to do the job, but I was talking to a member on here a couple months ago and he mentioned that there is a recipe out there to make your own root tabs. I'm hoping somebody will come along with it and post it here. Supposedly, a couple members on this forum know what it is. Just haven't gotten around to starting a thread on it.

I have seen that thread. Looks like a PITA to me. IDK.

I just read through it. I already have everything I need except the red clay. I know there are a couple of Joann's near me, and since I am a cheap skate, I am prrobably going to give it a try. Cost was the entire reason to switch from Flourish ferts to dry ferts.
On another note, I saw the thread for your 125. Very nice. We are shopping for a single family home and when we get it, I'm getting a fish room in the basement. I've got all kinds of plumbing dreams in my head to make water changes, filtration, and CO2 easier for me. I hate spending time on tank maintenance instead of enjoying the view.

I have everything except the red clay too.
Thinking about other options, but I think the red clay provides a bit of Iron for the plants.

the red clay is easily found. just go to any hobby store, and buy red indian clay or really any red clay. I havent done it yey ethier thow .....lol
On the other hand the root tabs are nice, I use them about once a mth, when I remember..... helps rooted plants the best , like crypts, and swords. I got some at the petco that just opened here ... good price. I like to place them in after a good gravel cleaning . I also use dry ferts
+ Excel .

It might look like hard, but one batch is going to last you many years. The flourite product costs $8 per 10, the DIY tabs are about 75-100 per $5 in materials used.
