Mafia #69: Ghost Hunters Game Thread

Labby, in my heart would like to give you a free pass for today based on RL, however my head knows that roles are assigned regardless of what RL throws at us. Not swayed enough yet to move my vote. But as I said zi will continue to look into others.

I also wanted to say that I do not see your reasoning for saying that you would have lynched Dawg. His play typically does not waver due to a role assignment, so not seeing what you are talking about. JMO.

I posted more yesterday than today for sure, but I'm still trying to contribute to the game.....
Yes, Cavie...I was really just giving you a hard time. I don't have you leaning more either way at this point.

And Wiz, I really don't want to hear it about how even mentioning PRs is a scummy thing to do. Mad asked, and I gave him my answer. :silly:
You put it out there....and now you act like I'm dragging it out of you?

Well, I wouldn't of put a name out there period as to who I would of hit. Your weren't asked (from what I remember) so why mention it, you had to know you would be asked why. By bringing it up yourself, you put it out there to be questioned.
Yup.

The question itself wasn't important, more of a dig at him anyway. the important thing is that as he has been doing this whole game is that he sidesteps questions.

He sidestepped many of Kashta's questions yesterday by responding with questions.

However, for your own curiosity, I pulled my original post and posted it below.
Here's the thing that worries me, Wiz. You've been going nuts about this question for awhile now, so I looked back and couldn't find any questions that weren't loaded rhetorical questions.

You continually slugging away at JL over an unanswered question, when you don't really expect an answer isn't the most pro-town thing to do. Questions are more for gathering actual information, not shoveling scum onto other players. If you are going to ask loaded rhetorical questions, that's fine...just don't continually jump up and down when they're not answered, as you just admitted that the purpose of the question is just to heap scum on someone (versus actually obtaining any useful information).

Still working on my suspect list but at this point it is difficult without knowing exactly how many scum there are.

That said, it seems that usually we have 4 or 5.

Going conservative for my numbers I am going to go with 4 as a base figure for my list.

I am considering the comments about ILM and I have to say, The last game we played with ILM, his posting habit was identical to this game.

I seem to remember him being scum.

So I will, for the time being drop Bio from my most suspect list to make room for ILM.
Yes, Mollies did play EXACTLY the same way and yes he was evil.

Geez people, I do have a life you know. Again, I just got home from work after another 12 hour shift. I do this 5 days a week, some days are slower than others, on those days I can post. We've been super busy this week.

You want the full out explanation about where my mind was yesterday? Here goes...after 3 hours of sleep, I went to work at 4am since my team is capped out with 20 patients. 4 of those are very very sick, think likely to not make it out of the hospital. I have a lot of drug monitoring and recommendations due to changing renal fxn, etc. Sometime around noon my mom texted me that my grandpa had fallen and was in the ED and that they were going to admit him. From the way it sounded, there was a decent chance he wouldn't make it out of the hospital, fortunately today he's doing better. I didn't get home until after 6pm since I have to meet with students every afternoon.

So after a 14 hour day with 3 hours sleep my brain wasn't working well. When I saw Noods vote jump right before nightfall (and I didn't have any problem with the time, idk why everyone else was so confused), I thought maybe she knew something I didn't. And maybe she does. Maybe I'm wrong about Ice, he sure seemed scummy with his theory about a vet needing to be the one to pick the investigations. His idea worked out without Ice getting voted out seeing as Kashta was the scum hit.

Why could you see me putting a hit on Kashta? She seemed to be leaning me innocent, no way I would take out someone who leaned me innocent if I were scum. That would just be stupid.

From what was going on during day 1, if I were scum I likely would have hit Dawg.

Actually Ice, now that I'm not completely brain dead, I'm not liking my vote on you. I'm really thinking Noods is scummy and (omg, I can't believe I'm saying this) you may be innocent. I was kinda thinking distancing but I don't think that's what happened. I think Noods KNEW you were innocent and didn't want to be caught voting for an innocent. It was the impression I got last night but since my synapses were not fully firing I didn't make any moves (and I'm stubborn, I thought you were scummy). Looking back, she knew I'm innocent too, but there was no way she could move her vote off of me without looking incredibly scummy so she just sucked it up and had a vote that counted. She herself said she was around the entire nightfall, did you have a mini-heart attack there Noods, thinking you might get caught voting for an innocent? Good thing the coin flip turned out in your favor...

With that, I retract my vote on Ice and I vote to lynch Noods.

This is a very preliminary list as I haven't had time to thoroughly read, but these are my impressions atm.

Noods- right now is my #1 suspect for reasons above

Dawg- hasn't posted much and he's usually much more active. Makes me wonder why he's laying low and what he has to hide

ILM- Not contributing one bit to the town. His lack of playing doesn't necessarily make him scum, but it sure as hell doesn't help flush out scum

CCM- Some inconsistencies and odd posts. May just be due to being new to the game.

I do have to say the double standards about who is busy irl is amazing. Apparently it's ok if Noods, Rich, Dawg, or Annie claims to be busy, but if Bio or I say we've been busy irl a huge deal is made out of it. I don't get it... :screwy:

I'm willing to believe you think I'm innocent and I'm willing to believe the post was just a tired ill written post. Not sure yet that I think you're not scum.

I think you're wrong about Noods but I could be wrong about Noods.I haven't really seen anything scummy. I don't see why she would move from 1 innocent to another as you are claiming. At the time if she had stayed on me it would have been a 3 way tie between me FF and Bio. Her moving put it between Bio and FF until your post moved me and Mad to you which put Bio out of the running and you in.
So why would she move out of a 3 way tie to make a 2 way tie?

I'm going to wait to see a more thorough list since this is preliminary at best as you said.

I left my notes/vote spreadsheet at work, but I am not sure what to make of Annie. His lack of posting seems to have become a norm for him so not sure which way to lean him....

ILM blows my mind! Apparently has no real interest in playing or has been to told to baffle us all by staying quiet....

I am really surprised to not see some real pushes for players since there should be investigation results from last nightfall. not sure what to think about that...

Dang it Lab. There you go again... What do you mean, that if you were scum you would have hit Dawg? Why? And what makes you think that if you were scum, that Dawg would be innocent? And why if you say that you would hit him are you also listing him as a suspect?

I read Lab's post and thought the exact same thing.

Wiz is going to be all over me for saying this but here goes...I would have hit Dawg since his drastic change in game play would make me think he had a PR. Since I don't know his role, I hope I'm not outing him. I think there is a greater chance he is scum, hence he is on my scum list. If I were scum, obviously I wouldn't hit him if he were also scum, so then he would have to be innocent. But since I'm not scum, only saying who I would have hit if I were, he would have been my choice. I would not hit anyone who said they were leaning me innocent and I'm not stupid enough to hit someone who was actively going after me. Does that clear it up?

And Wiz, I really don't want to hear it about how even mentioning PRs is a scummy thing to do. Mad asked, and I gave him my answer. :silly:

Lab how would you think I was innocent or a PR? There only seems to be one way you might know I'm innocent. That just seems like a strange comment to make. I vote to lynch Lab

I agree I haven't been posting as much in this game as I usually would. I'm just not into it this time as much as I usually am and I'm not sure why. I may just need to take a break from this for a bit after this game. I'm not going to give up though and I have nothing to hide. if you have questions, Lab just ask away and I'm more then willing to answer. As far as any other suspects...I'm still seeing Annie as a good candidate. I was ready to come in here and vote Annie. Then I read Lab's post and it just stood out to me that she knows what I am for a reason.

I thought about that too, (no real push). I'm wondering if since last night was first nightfall, that would make the first of "good" spirits maybe there were no investigation since there wasn't any spirits to send one in at that point.? That or maybe we are missing the "push" because someone doesn't want to be to obvious and become the evil hit for tomorrow.

I agree that JL has responded like a politician but IMO this is how he plays. He does not get defensive and try to justify his actions - they are what they are - like it or not....not saying this makes him innocent - just saying he is a good player and hard to get a read on.....I cannot say that I have "seen" anything scummy. He is one of the players I never know which way to lean....
