I've breezed through the posts since before nightfall yesterday, more or less, and there's enough of them to comment on that I could be here for hours trying to do just that. So I'll try to get through them on through the evening tonight.
Basically, in order for me to figure out who to question, what might look scummy, etc... I had to work out the Game 56 roles and powers we learned last night. So...
Starting with nightfall events and comparing what we now know as factual with what the roles and powers were in Game 56 ... then using that info in connection with Pappy's sequence of events for this game... this is giving me issues. I'm finding details/comparisons to Game 56 that I can't figure out. And I think that's important... because who we go after next depends on which theory we believe... such as the fish/fishy code word theory.
I'll explain that more as I go along. Some details from nightfall:
The town's first experience in the vortex has caused confusion...just what the mafia want...somehow, though, the town comes to a decision...the right decision...
Hooked Newbie was mafia
I'm definitely not liking that vortex of Pappy's and by now I'm sure he can imagine what he can do with his blasted time machine, but we did great killing one of the scum.
A lone KGB agent walks through the shadows...trailing their first victim...
Rich was just an inncoent
This is the mafia hit and this seems clear enough. This hit was orchestrated by someone given the role of a lone KGB agent. And a townie died. Okay, simple enough.
My interpetation, though, is Pappy used the word "lone" as a hint that this scum person was
non-communicating mafia. (Game 56 had multiple KGB agents using code words to communicate in the thread, so the non-communicating part would also be consistent with that game.) Still, the word "lone" seems to suggest this evil was working independently from the other 2 scum. Keep that thought for a moment... there's more.
Another towns person is out tonight and is searching for demonic souls to kill...it seems their target was killed before they could reach them..no matter, the result would have been worthless...
Here's the town's first of two hit attempts. (Demonic souls were evils in Game 56 and the good guys were Exorcists.) But notice the fact that a townie is looking for demonic souls.... plural, not singular. If that's the case (and not a typo from Pappy), then we were dealing with 1 KGB agent and 2 demonic souls.
Now here's the problem I have with this. If there were 2 demons, those roles were granted the corresponding powers demons had in Game 56. And while the KGB were not allowed to communicate with their teammates... the demon team DID communicate with each other. And that leads me to believe it was 1
non-communicating mafia and 2
communicating mafia.
But if this is true, why on earth would the KGB agent be using code words at all to communicate with anyone else in the thread? This person is described as being a "lone" agent and the demon team (of Game 56) didn't use code words at all. (That bothers me because I kinda liked that code word theory which also seemed to fit in so well with what's going on in this game.)
With this in mind, now, scroll back up to where I quoted the mafia hit on Rich done by a lone KGB agent. There you see it also said this was the mafia's
first victim... or maybe Pappy was saying it was the KGB agent's first victim? I can't decide about that but I think it suggests the mafia had a second victim too. But Pappy posted nothing else about it in the thread. And if the other mafia teammates were both demons (communicating)... then what were they doing?
In Game 56, the demons couldn't kill anyone... they were a team-building/recruiting team who grew bigger by turning innocents (by possessing their souls).
So.. was someone turned last night? And is that who the mafia's 2nd victim was? If so, then there were 3 mafia, one was lynched, and a new recruit was gained.
It seems the lone CIA agent decided to take the night off instead of risk killing an innocent...the journalist, on the other hand, was busy putting together a headline for tonight...
Aliens sighted over ACVille... RB not among them.
The next nightfall post shows us two more activities done by the town. Our side had a CIA agent who could also kill but didn't submit their hit. (And this is townie hit #2 while we only saw 1 mafia hit reported at nightfall.)
We also had a journalist who submitted a headline with investigation results. And no, there were no aliens in Game 56. There is, however, a very popular public thread about Rbishop that's called "Bob the Alien." And there are plenty of alien jokes made all the time about Bob (Rbishop).
So what to think of the headline? I'm not sure. I believe it clears Rbishop as a real townie investigation result. But that's only possible if Pappy allowed the journalist to submit and investigation, receive results, and submit that headline before the first nightfall.
Two members of ACville decide that time travel was not for them...
The Red Severum and I Love Mollies were both innocent
2 innocents UD'd.. gee thanks.
The mafia, unhappy with the lynch, decide that it is time to use the machine again...
The year is 2078 and an odd, blue list lingers over the horizon...there is talk of evil genetic altering going on in the underground of ACville...the town hopes that the local engineers are on the scene...a disgruntled lab worker has also been seen frantically running around town...
Yes, Bala decided to make it a little easier on the town...
GAME ON!
Nightfall will be Sunday at 8 PM central
And whoosh, we're off to a Bio Badlands game for Day 2.
I know this is a long post and I'm sorry there's a lot to go through here, but it's what I've been trying to figure out all day and I didn't want to break this up. All the PR roles get their powers based on whichever game Pappy sends us to for that day.
Mafia Day 1 Roles and Powers
Scum #1 Lone KGB Agent -- Could kill. Could not communicate.
Scum #2 Demonic Soul -- (What were they doing? Pappy didn't tell us.)
Scum #3 Demonic Soul -- (What were they doing? Pappy didn't tell us.)
Hits? - At least 1 from what we saw.
Invests? - We don't know.
Turn Someone? - That's what demons did in Game 56. They communicated and were team building/recruiting teammates.
Communicate? - Demons yes... KGB agent(s) no.
HN was lynched and Pappy said he was mafia... but he didn't tell us if HN was the KGB agent or one of the demonic souls.
Town Day 1 Roles and Powers
Town #1 Lone CIA Agent -- Could kill. Pappy said the person was "searching for demonic souls."
Town #2 Exorcist -- Could also kill but didn't.
Town #3 Journalist -- Could investigate Day 1, got invest results back before nightfall, and could publish headline.
Hits? - At least 2 hits. One successful, the second wasn't submitted.
Invests? - At least 1 because the headline clears Rbishop.
Turn Someone? - Apparently not (?)... none of those roles could turn people in Game 56.
Communicate? - I don't think so... none of those roles communicated with anyone in Game 56.
