Mafia 72-Vampires game thread

I went back and did some looking... it was Mafia 63 that I was referring to: http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=218092; modded by Ice. Page 76 (I think) is where I should have been lynched, but since I didn't vote, Ag got the noose and I UD'd. I'd really like to know, Ice; if you ran your game that way, why did you assume it would be safe to vote DD now?

In the pm's that followed, you explained to me that this is exactly the reason people move their votes off the UD. It really feels to me like being played. I don't want to vote until I hear Ice's response, but I'm leaning this way.

So Ice did go against his own wording. Ice, your giving me more and more reasons to vote you. I will allow for you to attemt defence, but you pretty much lied, and that alone could get you lynched. But you also started the DD thing.

Chill surveys the carnage, brutal! Four innocents gone, yes four. Pap was innocent when the vampires took him, that the slayer mitigated the damage by staking him after the bite looks more like luck then anything else as he was inncoent when the stake was launched.


The pile on DD reminds him of a quote from Edmund Burke: "all that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing..."

The town better get its shiii..act to gether quickly or it will be over run with vampires.

So you are saying that had I voted for Ice when no one else was on him it wouldn't have been a waste of a vote because he was my highest suspect for being evil? Also if that is correct you are saying that getting two innocents killed is better then getting one killed because using strategy on day 1 when your main suspect is in the clear for the time being is not helpful to the town?

Do you remove a diseased fish from your tank in order to protect the other fish there or do you wait to see if the other fish will be fine while the infected heals?

I believe Pap was on Ice, you would not of been a lone vote. Yes, if he was your highest suspect then your vote should of been there. Unlike Noods single vote, you had a reason for it to be there...you thought (or so you say) he was evil, not I don't want to vote someone who may be lynched.
Your main suspect may not of been in the clear had you stayed on him, others may of saw what you did and went there also, instead of taking a "easy" way out.

I could see this being true if DD showed evil but she showed innocent. How does that make me look good?

All I was doing was trying to buy us an extra day by cutting losses. I'm not asking anyone to trust or follow me.

It looks to me that so far LG and JM are the only ones really upset that DD was voted for, why? You got your 4 innocent kills and while Jpap can't vote he can still strategize with you.

You of all ppl should know why others are upset Ice, you have jumped down others throats for exactly the same thing. I don't think Myself and Jmax are the only ones who feel this way.

I've gotten a bit of sleep and had some time to think and read back over a good part of the thread. Here's what bothers me about Ice and his plan of voting DD:

In the game I referenced earlier where I didn't vote as the top vote getter, I UD'd and the second highest vote getter got the noose. I remember sending a couple of WTF pm's to the mod because in that game, the lynch happened before the UD in the order of nightime occurrences too. I may be misremembering this, and I couldn't find the game in a quick search; but it seems to me now that Ice was the mod of that game... maybe you can confirm or deny that, Ice?

Here's the rub... in the pm's following my UD instead of lynching, Ice explained to me that "that's the way it's always been, the UD doesn't get the lynch". Regardless of Labby's intentions toward this point in this game; my memory is that Ice's p.o.v. was exactly the opposite of what he's spewing this game re: voting DD. When did your mind change on this issue, Ice?

Kash seems to have come out swinging on this issue too. I don't think Kash and Ice would both be making such a big deal out of it if they were both evil, they're way too good for that. So I think one of two things is happening: either Ice is evil and is just playing with rule interpretation to hide a vote, or Kash is evil and jumped on the bandwagon Ice started which can later be used to frame Ice. I really believe at this point that one of these two has no reflection.

THANK YOU JB, yes see I knew we used to us the UD instead of the lynch if a UD was voted for EXAXTLY that reason....it was just a bad call period. I'm glad someone else remembers that.

Now Kash, what do you think of Ice being the one to come up with this "plan"?

Yeah well thats on you guys. If you're sure you're vote is on a vamp then keep it there. I'm not sure and since DD is going to die anyway I'd rather see votes fall onto her and save a possible innocent.

The blaim goes with everyone. If we had been able to agree on one person this wouldn't have happened. and if people had been willing to make difficult choices (aka noods, other people who voted alone) this prob wouldn't have happened.

The other issue with buying time - was time helps the vamps that can grow their numbers more than it does the town that can only get smaller.

The first time I read Ice propose voting the UD it struck me as very unIce like.

I still believe 2H to be a vamp and receiving coaching from someone with more experince. Ice fits that bill nicely. I haven't ruled out that it could be Kash instead of Ice and I sure hope its not both of them. It would have been a nice bit of distancing for Ice to vote Kash, start a train, and then jump off to DD.

Im always on the fence, and i still want to vote ice, but i want to see his part of the story first. It just seems unfair to not see his side of the story.

And im still mad at the situation, I've just had time to calm down and use my brain a little.

When did i say "we" gained? I said that the vamps gained.

I imagine this is what Jmax is referring to, FF. In this post you say "we lost 4, then gained 1".
