Mafia 73: Werewolf Game!

For crying out loud....... noob alert: (Directing this to User-Name and Piranha.)

Any time you EVER imagine someone is one of the townie PRs... NEVER ever say so in the game thread. Speculating about innocent power players like that BY NAME is an almost sure way of getting them killed.

You're supposed to helping the town side here... not the scum team. Okay?

This was towards JB

You generally aren't as vocal however, so I don't get the opportunity to poke at you as much.

So are you saying he's being more vocal than usual? Is this something to be considered? If he's acting differently than in the past then you would think it is to compensate for something. I would have never noticed myself, but since it was mentioned I figured I'd ask.

Fact is, my participation level waxes and wanes based on RL, my mood, and how into the game I am. As it turns out, I recently quit my job which was highly stressful, so I have a lot of time and energy to focus on the game.

IMO, you're better to look at what's happening in this game rather than take anyone else's word on another player's style. But yes, in the end; everything is something to consider.

 That is so true!!

I came to pretty much the same conclusion, this being FF's game. He's certainly not going to approach this the same way I would. (I'm weird too, just in a different way... lmao.)

I know I get too fussy with numbers too... I just trust those more because playing hunches or coming up with theories usually gets me misdirected.

Thanks for pulling FF's post from the sign up thread. That's probably the best basis for us to go on as a starting point.

I'm thinking we're safe with an estimate of 3-4 as I really don't see even FF putting up 5 wolves against a town of 10. Wouldn't be fair numbers for the town imo. Of course, that's me trying to get into FF's brain.

I loved that movie. "There's always a reason to kill your girlfriend."

hmmm... wonder why I'm single??? :footinmouth:

:jaw:

I amuse myself that much.

:omg: Did not need to know that bit of information there Chill...

JM's posts stood out from the rest because of the tone of his posts. As you know I do have a tendancy to get my vote on record early enough as with my work schedule I don't have set times that I can get back to the game and don't wish to UD.
I agree that the tone didn't fit with the mood of the town at the time. What I can't get over is how differently this play would be for JM compared to how he played as a vampire. Right now, that's the biggest thing preventing me from voting for him.

LG:

First post:Already adding to the FFness of day 1 with the Skimmy McSkimmerton role. :silly: What really hit me about this post is that it seems so much more finger pointy than I'm used to early on from LG. She's always good at putting thoughts out there, but this seems confident. Which I'm decidedly not used to. In this game, confidence comes from information. Hmm...

Forgive me if I'm wrong here, G. But in this game, ALL the wolves are hidden... unless you're one of them.

Again trimmed for space. Here LG jumps on questioning Dag. Again, I get it; but it seems odd to keep beating the horse when all the questions have been asked before. And again, this seems to be awefully finger pointy for LG on day 1.

Agree that LG is giving me a bad vibe. Not only is she finger-pointy, she's pointing at the wrong people for saying things. Almost like she doesn't care who she points at as long as she's pointing at someone. Wonder what knowledge she has that others don't...feel like howling there LG?

If you're going to attempt to accuse me of being scummish, at least try to come up with a half-good reason.
I do agree with you, jm is either seer, hunter, or alpha wolf. I'm thinking alpha wolf, he's just a bit too skittish.
WTF is up with all the PR discussion? I already gave UN the . It's not productive for the town to discuss PRs, only helps the flea-bags.

JB, any reason you're suddenly invisible for this game? Iirc, last game and the game before you weren't invisible and you were a townie (at least until the end of last game when you were turned). Seems kinda odd you'd suddenly go invisible for this game. Does it help you hide from the moonlight?

LOL... I went invisible during the sign-up thread when I saw there were so many noobs playing. Don't know the exact path the thought took from A to B, but that was what and when. I tend to go back and forth with that as well as participation.

To answer one of your questions Kashta, and to help you with your spreadsheet, remember that FF is the mod and he likes things to be tough. If he were going to go with the standard 25% then I would say with 15 players he would start with 4 WW. 5 would be too lopsided IMO.

Yes we have 3 prs with power and we also have a communicating team on the town side. But, remember, the communicating townies don't have any power and the ones with power can't communicate.

Therefore, logically speaking, it seems as though the numbers would then add up to make a difficult but fair game for all.

Also, I've apparently had my quota of caffeine for the day...

When it is time to quit the caffeine remember it's 5:00 somewhere, and a pull from the bottle is refreshing indeed. (It also helps calm the jitters from too much caffeine.) ;)

I had just noticed as I was going through the posts you were more active and was going to question but you have already answered, thanks.

Fair enough, RL has to play a major part in the game.

Better to look away from you? Is that what you're saying? ;)

So just got back from class and wanted to share some of my thoughts. JM's early postings did strike me as odd and possibly scummy with the defensiveness aspect to them. However his postings did actually help the town somewhat in my mind by getting a serious discussion going instead of the joking banter. It seems odd that JM would say that there usually aren't any joke votes / banter postings at the beginning of the games because I feel that every game starts off with at least some level of comedic relief. <cough> mafia in space Uranus jokes <cough>

As far as the number of mutts my estimate is 4. I am basing that off the percentages of players / roles and also the fact that if it gets down to alpha there is chance to turn. Three (20%) I think would be too low for a game format that doesn't give chance to turn every night while 5 (33%) would be too high since they get hits.
