10G Vampire Crab Paludarium

I tried feeding them pellets with no luck. I got some crickets that I put in the tank and they seem to like them. I had to smoosh one so my crab could see it. I need to get smaller ones though.

fruit flies. the vampires hunt them, I've seen in videos.

So do they use the water much? in and out? all over? I'm trying to decide how much water to use in my next tank (which you saw) and have never seen video of them in the water...

I have some fruit flies but I think my culture just crashed because I put too much water. SIGHH. They seem to go in the water only once in a while but they're usually near the water.

Nice setup chris. I really like the whole vampire crap setup!

I have a viquarium and enjoy it very much. I have a FBT and 2 FBN. I havent had any problem with them co-habitating. In the water side i had a female betta that i had to put in there cuz she was very mean to my other fish and she did just fine. I also had ghost shrimp in there. Not sure where they went,(i think the newts at them). My tank size is a 29g so i have lots of room. Very heavely planted. Its like a jungle in there. lol They all love it tho. Good luck and post pics soon.

Thanks! I love them but I usually only see one or two at a time.

Yeah, I was gonna do that but ended up not having room. I have pics if you scroll back. Thanks :)

thats awesome!!!!! I'm surprised that the vampire crabs don't visit the water as often, i thought that they spent a lot of time in there....

Something malfaunctioned in my paludarium. It ended up flooding the land part but I dont' think it's a leak. I think what happened was the pump splashed the water onto the rocks and the water dripped into the land part. But I'm wondering how come there was so much water.. Hmmm. I gotta figure it out. I think the hard water from the water area killed my sundews and my VFTs.
