20 gallon metal-frame show tank - Should I?

That's what I call old-school experience ;)

I'm wondering if I should just rip it all out and reseal for a reliable, yet retro look?

Best Regards,
Patrick

i wouldn't i've done it and it's a pain if your really concerned just run a bead of silicone along the inside seams of the tank. it looks like it's a glass bottom so you should have not problems doing that, might even be that the glass was replaced at some point already. ether way give use pic :)

If it's glass bottom, you can probably rip it out and redo it, but if it's slate bottom, silicone won't stick to it.

JMO but the pic in the add looks like a picture used for advertising on the original product. i dont think that is the actual tank. hope it turns out good though, that is one good price.

I resealed a slate bottomed metaframe tank a month or two ago with silicone and it is still holding water.

Omg.. are these desireable? I just picked up a metal framed 50 gallon with slate bottom. silicone is all shot and I see there is what looks like tar on the outside?

the silicone is in you're tank was probably done much after the tank was built originally thay built these tank and sealed them with tar on the out side often times if the tar is in good shape you can just remelt it ether in warm water or with a hair dryer to seal the tank.

he picked it up this morning.... why no update or pics yet?!?!
