Is it really that bad?

I just want to take good care of my fish. I do not have the betta and will not get him until my goldfish are settlesd. I made a mistake in getting them I admit that but they deserve to live and a watch the parameters carefully and do every other day water changes.

I did not mean to start a fight or seem ungrateful. I just get told I'm worthless a lot so I'm sensitive.

I am doing the best for them. I nursed them back to health and don't want to see them hurt ... I just don't know what to do :( I want them safely rehomed but I can't find a place. If I could I would gladly give them up to a lovinh owner and get a Betta who would thrive in my tank. But for now I am doing my best and I don't know what else I can do :(

Please don't tell me to return them I love them too much to see any harm come to them.

So what happened? I see you got the Betta by your threads on this forum and another I belong to. No offense but why did you get him?

I saw your thread on the other forum of your new Betta and then I saw it here too....I was confused as I thought "I know I left a reply to this" and then I realized I had left my response at the other forum after going back there to make sure I was not going crazy.

After reading there for a bit I decided to look at all your posts there...which then led me to all your posts here. I see that 1st you say you were misled by the fish store to buy 1 goldfish for a 10 gallon....then everyone told you to get rid of it. You then went and got a 2nd goldfish...again you were told this was bad. Then you asked if you could put a Betta in a 1 gallon and you were told no. You got upset every time people told you you could not have these fish. Then you said you would not get a Betta. Now you have a Betta.....WHY? You also have given others advice on fish which actually did not sound all that bad. You have also stated that you have previously kept fish and that you have no experience with fish (which is it?). To me it seems that you are going from being misinformed/uneducated to just plain cruel. I have that same tank that you put that Betta in (I bought it to put 2 zebra danios in for an hour or so) and it is seriously small.

I am sorry that you get told that you are worthless a lot. No one should hear that. No one is worthless.

I am assuming that you are young being that you are soon off to college but IMO you are old enough to learn and to listen.

I really hope that you get rid of those goldfish and just keep the Betta in the 10 gallon.

Anyway, I just had to get that off my chest...sorry if I sounded rude or mean.

well it was more of an I couldnt resist. I did not go to get him. I went to get some stuff for the goldfish. I have been reading a lot on fish. I have experience a little... My dad had fish when i was growing up. This is my first Solo endeavor.

I am trying to get rid of my goldfish but I want them to go to a better home. most think they can go in a bowl. So its either that or back to the pet store again and they die. :( I could never see that happen to them I love them too much. I know everything I'm doing sounds cruel. But I cant take them back. I got the second fish because I was told they get lonely...I'm really trying to do my best... I'm just that bad at it :(


Being worthless isnt the problem ...just makes me strive to do better ... though obviously not good enough...

I'm a biology major ... I can retain information like no other ... Thats how I give others information ...

Honestly I cant wait til I get the goldfish in a nice new home that loves them like I do. And get my little Tatsu into a ten gallon and see his glorious colors under the lights :)

Honestly I am sorry for everyone here that has given me advice and for my fish ... And for my poor little Lili who I hand raised and was stolen .... ( you'd be surprised the terrible things I have seen .... I dont want to be like them ... but i guess I'm failing )
 
Ballyhoo please stop ... I don't need another bashing :( I know I'm a bad owner. I know what your going to say :( And I'm sorry :(

Maybe i'll rehome my little guy with his tank ...

And find someone who will care for my goldfish
 
What I don't understand is why you say you have a 40g in storage but wont set it up....

I know you can only have a 10g for college but for now can't you put them in the 40?
 
the forty has no supplies. Dad gave me the tank no supplies ... and its at my moms ex boyfriends house, Total creep I'm not going there alone. I would love to get them in a lake or pond or the forty ...

I cant set it up ... If I could I would. if I could safely do anything healthy with the goldfish I would do it.
