Hi everyone. Just getting caught up and such... woo hoo with the game starting and zero in on some mafia scum-varmints for us, Wizard!

Aww shucks....I was hoping they'd risk me again.


Best advice I can give you Wiz is ask questions of the group as a whole ask for lists whenever you can and compare them continuously. Try to watch from the outside and don't get caught up in arguing.

I bet you did, lol! And I agree with Ice on the rest quoted there.

Well this game doesn't lend its self to idle chit chat.

I'll get the ball rolling for Wiz.

1.Why do we think the mafia chose Wiz?

2.Who do you think would choose Wiz as the 1st Slinger?

Good questions to start us off with, Ice.... but as you're not the slinger at the moment, you should probably be answering them as well. Not just asking others to respond.

I can think of lots of reasons why Wizard makes a good choice from the mafia's perspective, but he's a darned good choice for the town too (IMO). They just might regret picking him over other choices they could have made.

Wizard does more actual analysis than other players (and that takes time for him to digest details from the thread) so maybe they wanted to rush him early on before he gets going. At the same time, however, he's also real perceptive about people and definitely not shy when it comes to playing a hunch. That's why this could really backfire on them.

I don't think he's sure how to read some of the vets or some of the relative noobs either. It's hard to say whether that tells us anything worthwhile or if it cancels itself out.

Wizard did say he wasn't going to be around much, but then they picked him to go first..... which happens just before a weekend. That's when he has more free time and more flexibility with time because he's not up against his normal work schedule. It's kinda hard for me to estimate what other people have in their minds about that, since I know his daily schedule better than other players would.

That is why I think they chose him also. But Wiz is pretty good at picking out scum so its not a smart move IMO except that he has limited time. But that just means we need to push the envelope more for him and get players talking. It would be better for him to ask his own questions since he knows what answers he expects but every little bit should help.

I would pick one of the best players first. It is the hardest shot with the worst odds. I would want to get the good players out of the way first.

If it were me, I'd be torn. It's obviously better to get the smart players and vet players out of the way before they get a chance to read you. I'd also be tempted to hand the gun right back to Ice first of all because the odds of him getting as lucky with that as last time would be low... and I don't think that choice would lead itself back to me. But I'd also be tempted to pick a noob.... even Jspigs, this being his first game. That would likely divide the town more than it would unify it.

That is exactly what I came up with as well. But I am not quite sure what it means.

He could have something to hide and not want to help the town or maybe he wants to help the town but simply does not have anything to contribute.

Wizard, I'd say Dag should have posted more content than he did, so maybe it's significant that he didn't. This isn't the usual day or two of fluff posting on Day 1. But it's still real early in the game, so that makes it easy for us to pick something out and blow it out of proportion.

My advice to you is take your time. Take the full 48 hours you get. A lot of people are going to get finger-pointy anyway and we already know 5 of them are trying to point your shot the wrong way.

I'm not seeing anything in those posts that is incriminating. 1st post is the norm and 2nd post was more or less a response to my post. Timing doesn't mean anything either and as far as content every post before that was just a woohoo game on post.

What content were you guys expecting? Up until I posted the questions there was no content in any of the posts?

I agree that you should take the full 47 hrs 59 minutes, I did and it really helped me to get a good read on players.

I realize that as I went back to check. At the time I posted I had thought that you had already asked your questions and thought it odd he hedn't responded to them.

It has been a long day and I have reread the thread many times. I got a little fuzzy on what was posted when.

As for why Wiz was chosen, could be any number of reasons...they want him gone, they know he is pressed for time, could be trying to set someone up...whichever...as for who that leads to I have no flippin idea. Really could be anyone at this point and it isn't something I'm going to dwell on because it is impossible to know until the end of the game and the scum chat is posted. Good way to get some discussion going but basing a shot off of just that wouldn't be good IMO.
