Mafia 80: Ghost Hunters

Having placed my vote, I wondered about Tigger's smooth response to my previous question about him being on meds and how he uses some other outlet (at times) to avoid posting nonsense in the game thread.

This is what prompted my vote, finally. His flippant answer to my question about this.

I'm creating the history of a fictional species of alien who live on planet Calandan.

I have been content with dieing since this game started. i see no problems with it.

Ok, no i need to go biking with my mom :yuck:

Since I remember him mentioning this before, I had to go back and recheck other posts FF made recently

Hmm, i don't think so. Maybe it was the wrong word, maybe not. IDK.

Well, i really dought you people beleive in coincidence, and neither do i. I probably read Labbys post and then unconshisly remember that part and used it in my own. Thats the best i can do, sorry.

Hey, it kicked of day 1, i had nothing to go on, and i was trying to brainstorm. Thats what i came up with. I still don't understand how it can hurt the town to hear what others have to say about a game-related topic, but ok.

Ok, so its out of context. Anything else?

Sudden intelligence... this is my first game on the new meds, last game i was modding and on the new meds, this game im playing on the new meds.

Simler car reference... she said it, my mind must've remembered it somewhere and thrown it in my post. My mind is weird, even i don't understand why i do some of the things i do.

Want to play like labby... yes, i would like to be as good at the game as labby. That would probably go as far as turning her, but not as my first choice, my first 4 choices have already been stated.

Fishfriend, I read everything you posted at the mod board you used during that game you just modded.

If THAT is an accurate example of your new-found ability to contain your scattered thoughts and avoid posting them for everyone to see that you NOW attribute to this new "wonder drug" you're taking, then this is statement from you nothing but a bold-face lie.

My vote is unlikely to change.

Just to clear things up, to let you all into my twisted little mind a little.

Yes I jumped FF fairly early. I got a nagging feeling in the back of my head and in my gut about him.

I don't see him being turned D1 by the murderer unless it is to use him as a sacrifice to make the murderer look good. I believe his "theory" if you want to call it that was just what I said and many more of you have commented on. Total bs. A list of names to get others looking in other directions. As I have stated he tops the list with me when there are much better players than I am in the game. My thoughts on that are because those at the top of his list are less likely to say "it's just FF" so he feels more threatened by us. Those he admires, by his own admission in previous games, are at the bottom of the list. Hmmmm.

I switched to Hay because of the way he was posting. Calling Rich for not contributing while he has contributed even less. Not seeing anything but banter while FF and I were going back and forth.

It just didn't feel right. That said, my vote may end up back on FF yet, I don't know at this point. I have not been able to get this game out of my head all day. With FF stating he doesn't have a problem with being lynched? Sounds like a pitch from a used car salesman to me. He has always fretted about getting killed of early.

I believe I have 1 hr 45 min to make my final decision. I still think FF was most likely the murderer. I just am not sure if he would have turned Hay if he was. I need to reread and make sure I am comfortable with my vote.
I doubt Hay would be the one changed, too. Instead, I could see him picking Ninja just because they are bros...

Well with 30 minutes left, it doesn't look like anything is going to change...

I vote to take the soul of Hay.

He was quiet up until someone was changed and then after "getting attacked" was quite vocal but then placed a vote and faded back with the people he tried calling out in his theory.

It just doesn't make sense... Three very different play switches all on day one?

OK, I really can't let go of this. It keeps nagging at me. This wole list thing. I was thinking about it and we all know how FF admires LR and he didn't even name her on the list until someone asked him if he didn't consider LR and noods vets.

I retract my vote on Hay and vote to take the soul of FF.

I do think he is the murderer and my vote will not change again.

There is no way even FF would pick his brother, that would work in no ones logic.
:iagree:

Where is our little piggy anyway?

yo sorry i wasn't here yesterday was at dads house where using tech is hard to do.

Morning all :)

Okay, to answer everyones question. By jumping on the train this is what I ment; Ff and wiz were talking last night and I came on
.........

You and FF were talking before wiz showed up.

I vote to take the soul of Hayden.

You have less than 5 minutes to vote so you should probably get that done...

For you, Lab Rat.

Red stuff -- You posted you think it may be helpful because it may lead us to connections between scum later in the game. Don't you think that's a rather broad statement... or overly vague? JB questioned you about this already and I believe you gave him an overly simplistic reply... basically just repeating yourself without actually saying anything of value.

What I'd like to know is how you really believe this to be a truthful assessment. (This should be fairly straightforward answer for you to give us if this is what you honestly believe.)

Here's what I mean... Would you kindly respond to JB's question by giving us some kind of example or likely scenario that is NOT based on a standard mafia vs. town format (which includes a fully staffed mafia team who are already ALL connected) and which actually takes into account the fact that this is a mafia team building game instead?

By that I mean please answer such things as how this Day 1 discussion about who the murderer might choose 1st would benefit the town in ANY way, considering the murderer could easily pick their first recruit to serve as an intended sacrifice and simply go after their real (preferred) teammate with their 2nd choice that happens to be a 100% guaranteed turn as well..... or how the fact that we have so many turns in this format, the presence of 2 vials, the possibility of "turned" spies in either the scumden and/or the ghost hunter chat boards, and the impending 2 random acts might change the dynamics (and mafia connections) in this specific game..... or how the fact that those who'll later become much more important once they become troubled souls later on would have any bearing today over which target the murderer may or may not have chosen at game start?

I also noted you also used the phrase: possible connections (plural). You did that 2 times (in both posts I quoted above.) That's what really jumped out at me as being vague.

Did you actually mean multiple connections... more than one?... when what we're talking about amounts to a single connection between ONE murderer and ONE turn?

What other connections (plural) might me we draw from this discussion later on that we had the very first day of play?

As for that other part I highlighted in blue. Are you actually saying that is the absolute "worst case scenario" you can imagine happening under this kind of format?

.... That you see no possible detriment whatsoever to the town's ability to identify 2 scum players (so far) as a result of us becoming distracted, diverted, or side-tracked over a potentially worthless or wasteful Day 1 discussion that could actually make it easier for the scum to hide out, blend in, or deliberately mislead us? As it happens exactly that way very often on Day 1 under a standard game format... wouldn't you suppose that sort confusion might be even worse for the town (later in the game) in this format than it would be normally?

I'm a little curious to learn your thoughts about this.

Kash, I ask you how exactly you would like me to give specifics in this situation. It was a broad statement because it is a broad thought. It's not like I said omg, this is the best idea EVER and we all must post who we would pick. I simply said it might not be totally useless as you and JB were painting it to be. I don't see how it hurts, and it might just help.

As for the plural "connections", unless we manage to eliminate the murder day 1, they will have claimed another victim after tonight. As of now, it's a single connection, but when FF's idea may be useful is several days from now.

To the blue part, it would hurt the town to get hung up on the question to the point where we neglect to look for scum. However, imo, it is easy enough for everyone to type out who they would pick and why (it doesn't have to be a 3 page essay). A simple one or two lines would do. We would then have that to use if needed when more information is presented in the following days. I did not mean for it to be a main discussion point. How exactly does that hurt the town?
