Mafia Games....

I was thinking no true role claiming. Ima dump it. Bad rule.

As for the mod=god, lol, i was joking. A play on words. :D

If you want to put a stop to role-claiming, you can't put restrictions that will identify it's truthiness. Personally, I don't mind role-claiming. It can be a problem in some games, but it can also be a viable tactic for either side if used correctly.

If you don't like it, and you don't want it your games then you should ban it outright.

why would a evil role claim their role anyway? or are you saying if you are evil you can't role claim?

I think RCs are a part of the game and just adds to the confusion and intencity that is mafia :) lol. But I should be playing next game, now that most of my school work is out of the way. I like the idea of the game :)

For the life of me I don't understand why people would want to ban role-claiming, or even complain about it...IT'S PART OF THE GAME. Role claiming only becomes a problem when you have a weak setup. If role-claiming is breaking too many games, then mods need to do a better job of balancing them.

For one, stop letting the doctor and detective speak to each other every game. Someone did that in one game, very long ago, and it's become a rule here, that the doc and detective also get to be masons. Just a thought.

RCing, IMO, can be a tactical move it is true. It is also true that it is part of the game. The problem I have with it is it has been increasingly used as a crutch.

That is players post themselves into the noose then RC to save their butt. IMO, it ruins the game when you have someone RC on D1 because they are up for the lynch.

The perception seems to be that RCing gives a tremendous advantage to the innocents. I don't think that's necessarily true. 2H's RC saved him but it also crippled him. He tied his own hands to a point where he couldn't dig without fear of narrowing the field. In recent game we've had false RC's - one by an innocent. Even known PR's can have trouble getting a town to follow them look at the werewolf game.

:thm:

RC's are a part of a game, but I wouldn't mind a game without them to mix things up a bit.
