those are all in the list

if u look at the above post,

i was supposed to have the breeding rack running right now, that was my whole plan, and that inspection ruined it, i would have at least 1 more 55G and 20G running right now.

And if they do spawn, i"ll have to humanely kill the eggs.:(

and same for the breeding pair

these fish were supposed to be in other tanks by now,

1 pair angels
1 trio GBRs
1 pair golds

Oh no, that sucks about your house :( Hope it gets worked out!

The bottom line, IMO, is that discus are not community fish. They are best kept with carefully chosen tankmates, or in a species setup with dither fish.

What you have is so random, and while the fish may not eat each other, there is WAY more to compatibility than that. Behavior, diet, temperature...aggression is not only measured by the visible results, i.e. a fish that is beaten up or torn to shreds. Fish with incompatible behavior will not be happy together. What are rams doing with cories? They are constantly wandering into the territories of the bottom dwelling cichlids. Where does a blue gourami fit in? Another known to be aggressive fish. I imagine these fish are not all mature either.

I could go on, but I am pretty sure you are not able to (or even all that interested in) changing anything. People really aren't going to dole out advice if it's going to be ignored. I don't think you've completely handled the stunted discus situation, and getting another cheap discus was not the right thing to do either. Didn't this whole trouble start, because the discus you bought were cheap? With fish, you get what you pay for...and one thing you will learn, is that the amount of time you spend researching and planning a tank will reward you endlessly.

So...you are dumping more new fish into the QT...per your other thread...??? As of a 7:31 post...

SORRY TO SHOUT, BUT IM SO HAPPY;)

JUST CAME BACK FROM THE LFS WITH

6 ORANGE BEE SHRIMP ($12)

ottos are going in quarantine, shrimp are going in shrimp tank:)

Unless I am completely blind I meant these ones above, if those were in fact from a post of yours today...Bob's not as angelic as he thinks, I could totally see him fabricating a post ;)

And unfortunately life gets in the way of plans sometimes. That is why in this hobby you need to control the impulse buys and only acquire what you currently have space for...it's much more responsible to setup a tank and THEN purchase the fish than to purchase fish and then decide that you need another tank. Sorry for the mini lecture but I do believe it is an important realization to come by.

Honestly, if it comes down to the fact that you legitimately do not have the space for every fish you currently own then you really should consider rehoming some of your stock. There are plenty of responsible people on AC that are ideal fits for potential homes. Being in Cali I'm sure there are numerous other people you could contact through local clubs, forums, etc.

Adding to that main tank of yours is not going to be a decisions that ends well. I strongly suggest you change your way of thinking and trust the people here that have the knowledge and experience to send you in the right direction. No one can force you to do anything with your fish but an early failure in this hobby only serves as a source of discouragement farther down the road. As Platy said you have tons of time to devote to all the fish you want to keep. I myself have several ideas for future tanks but I know my limits both financially and spatially.

I think you are getting plenty of good info but you have to realize that to some of us it seems like that info is falling on deaf ears, which is frustrating. Everything may be fine "as is" but my concern, which I am sure many others share, is that your tanks are not stocked to last and you've already experienced first hand that future plans do not always pan out. Again, I strongly suggest you rethink your current stock and not plan on adding anything until you are actually able to house more fish.

Trying to chill, but if i don't get any info, im just gonna stop with this forum for a while. I think everything is fine as is.
This line is very telling. Many experienced fishkeepers have given you a ton of good advice in well thought out posts that I can guarantee you took a lot of their time to post, yet you disregard anything that isn't a pat on the back telling you how awesome your tank is and what great stocking decisions you've made. It's your right to ignore all the great advice given here (and in many other threads of yours) but that's not the way to become successful and unfortunately the animals are the ones who will suffer. If you think it's fine and you don't mind wasting money and killing fish, keep on doing what you're doing. :headshake2:

^that isnt what I meant
I was talking about username just being annoying

I so appreciate the info

Rams are fine with. Orys ime, they have always been fine
Especially as it is a tall tank the rams are always in the middle or top
Never the bottom
I have prrof, I could record a vid. For a whole day showing that

Most of these fish in the 72 are compatible, no problems for over 4 months

And the gourami is a NEON blue gourami
Not as aggressive as a blue gourami

And again
I'm only ignoring the stupid posts like the one that user-name posted

Not the good ones

I have researched a lot and as much as I can with the time I have
Im busy with 2 instruments, 3 sports, fish, bmx, and other things

I think I'm going to get another tank and solve the compatibility issues
The discus are not stunted I think
I will get new updated pics 2morrow

Sorry for weir dish typing
Bc I'm using my iPad.

Thx for all the help so far
And Im really interested in keeping my fish happy and healthy so please don't think that I dint care for them
I care for them a lot and spend lots of time on them

I do not wish to mistreat them and if u guys think I cannot provide for them I will rehome them

Which is what I'm planning to do
I am not a person who doesn't care, I do, and I dont want to keeping wasting money on replacing them and I hope they dnt need to be replaced

Thx for everything so far

Most of it has helped a lot

Especially the part about not purchasing the stock that u can't currently support
-josh

Thx guys
Ritap

Keep in mind that four months is a very short time when compared to the lifetime of the fish. As fish mature and grow their behaviors and attitudes can change quickly. What may work now certainly may not in a week or a month or a year...

Yeah, I'm keeping that in mind

I'm removing the yoyo loaches,
Any others besides the breeding pairs?

SO..

Where is this tiny discus right now?
Is it in a tank with other fish?
What size is the tank?
What are the water params?
what is the water temperature?

Juvenile discus require a bit of attention, for the most part you cant just dump them in a community tank with other fish.

So everything else aside, what's happening?
