Nice. The Rams and Angels, being cichlids, are the only ones I would have been worried about, but since you plan to (or hope to) place them into different tanks when they mature, it's fine. The GBR's will end up with a pair and a loner, take the pair out and leave the loner behind, they will likely do fine. Don't put the Gold Rams and the GBR's in the same alternative tank though, will not end well. Now, while some may say that rams and corys don't work in the same tank, I'm a believer that they do and can work. Don't quote me on that, I've only had them together for about 3 months now, but no losses (or even aggression) between them yet. If I screwed up I'll let you know :)

Now, the betta and Gourami are both top-dwelling laybrinth fish, meaning they live in the same area and are semi agressive. They're even the same color here. I don't know for sure, but that just looks like it's asking for trouble. THe Gourami may also be a little mean towards other fish (though I'm going off hearsay here, I've never had a Neon Blue Guarami) so keep an eye out.

Too bad you had to rehome to discuss, but they would have never worked in your tank. I recomend you work on this tank, and in a few years you try again with discuss, if you feel you're ready. No community tanks for them though.

Besides that I can't see anything that I'm qualified to give advice on here, so good luck!

fishfriends right, but im not sure bettas are top dwelling fish. but there will be aggression between the gold and blue rams, most likely. i also think cories will work fine with the rams, as long as you have a lot of them to take the hits equally. good luck!

EDIT: your upside down cat will also appreciate buddies, and will live longer and happier with them.

Don't need to quote you:)

Actually the rams and corys have been fine since the first day:)

and this is most likely bc of the height of the tank, as the rams are always 6" above the substrate, so I don't need to worry:)

and the betta and gourami are like best buds, they are always swimming together:)
I'll take pics once my mom gets home(she has the camera again........LOL)

oh, and sorry, kind of didn't make this clear:)

the discus are getting picked up either today or by wednesday, should have made that clear:)

Really? I thought they prefer solo. Okay, then I will get him a few buddies;)

yup, I am thinking of removing a few corys later on, I don't know. And if I try discus in the future, I'll try them from a different breeder, and probably next year in the summer.

yep, im pretty sure all synos like a school. and i meant have a lot of cories so they all take equal hits. :)

yeah, I know what u meant:)
u want me to build a cory army to fight against the rams:)
but they are all friends, my rams are scared of my yoyo loaches, and even my clown pleco, though it is hardly out;)

I will get the few more upside downs the next time i go to my LFS(3 months:()

thx, i hope this new plan works out better than the old one

pics?

y mom has the camera as usual and shes at work, pics tonight for sure, if not, pics tomorrow;)

wow,

i had left my 10G outside in my backyard for a month, I just went to get it so I could set it up as the 4th tank, and as soon as i touched it, bam, the whole tank bottom cracked, i didn't even hit it hard or anything, i picked it up, and the base just cracked, like that. BAM out of the blue. What the heck? I am super mad right now, tanks aren't supposed to do that. I have kept lots of tanks like that and it never happened, I even ran a 10G outside for a long time with only fish from local creeks.

Was it hot, then cold, dry, then wet? AKA: The elements are not kind to glass. Heat and cold both cause it to become more ridged, which will cause it to shatter easily. A steady, stable tempature is what they are built to withstand, not chinging ones. So it's not to unexpected, FMPOV. With water inside the tank remains more stable, and tempatures dont swing as much. Water also prevent the tank bottom from being hit with direct light, further decreasing it's risk from above.
