Seriously though, you should be working on what you currently have right now. Maybe try DIYing a background, or working on the aquascape. Both of those things will keep you busy, and will help you better your tank.

okay;)

the ram it looks like a bruise which is healing, idk if fish have bruises, as it is super healthy, and no other signs, great appetite, very active, chasing female GBR, the usual

the cory died maybe of old age, i bought it at the LFS when it was an adult, probably around 1-1.5 years old, and have had it for 1.5 years after that, so probably old age??? The other albino long fins are completely healthy

Are you sure it's a bruise? It doesn't look like one in the photo you provided.
Corys have a long lifespan, depending on care. I had a group for almost 5 years and they just started breeding a year ago. I would double check to see what is really wrong instead of blaming it on old age.

Sound it out, that's how I roll. Seriously, sound the name of the fish out, then the word. Same thing. Anyways, thanks for correcting my spellings, I've never claimed to be the expert linguist and speller here.

how rude. he has dyslexia if i remember right.

I do, but that doesn't excuse me from spelling, just makes it fun for others to screw with me by putting a bund of words with the upper case letter "P" and the lower case letters "p, b" and the numbers 6 and 9 together...

definetly not down to old age, cories can live up to around 4-6 years depending on species and care. Think about the behaviour and looks, was the corydoras thin and was his fins clamped? was he hanging in one spot and was movement slowed or was he maybe even motionless? Another plus on stepping back and admiring on what you have so far is that you can learn the habits of the fish, so that in the future you will know if something is up straight away ;) if he looked fine then it was probably an internal infection or parasite, if any physical problems were clear, then it could be great if you could post them. Same goes for the GBR :) just as an obvious pointer, keep up with the params in the GBR tank, cause they need perfect conditions :)

+1 on the corys death not being old age. If you didn't notice anything wrong with the fish, then you probobly aren't paying enough attention to your aquarium.

Actually, I didn't just say it was old age, i said i think it could be that, not that it is and case closed........lol

abd btw,

i did say a while back in this thread a few times about a particular cory being super lazy, etc.

the fins weren't clamped or anything, it was definitely a female, as it was pretty big, bigger than the males i have(now i have 1 female and 2 males:()

still looking at other possibilities, it could be possibly that i accidentally hit with a large rock, bc i was moving things around 4 weeks ago, and dropped a few pieces, but i think they are agile enough to dodge as it accidentally slipped from my hands, it seems impossible to me for it to be hit/injured by falling decor as even in pet shops, the netters rapidly move/drop decorations and no fish die/get hurt

still thinking

and for the ram, the pics are very very bad, it looks nothing like the actual thing

at first, it was a bright white and like most bruises on animals, it has almost regained its color, or it is a parasite:( I don't think it is, as the fish probably would have gotten sicker, and less active, as right now it is eating like a pig, fighting with other males, etc. the usual;)

may get medicated flake food as a precaution???

good ideas

i am seriously thinking about the backround, but not sure if it will suit the tank, maybe for now, but when the co2 comes, it will be lush, and heavily planted, not any view of the backround, and anyways, the DW blocks most of the tank wall?

aquascape is true, but i'll be doing that later, i have already planned it;)

but most of u guys are saying no more fish stuff/plants/fish for a while, so i will be waiting for a while,

and BTW!!! THE TANK IS MUCH CLEARER NOW THANKS TO THE 350GPH PENGUIN!:)
