can this hold my 20 gallon full of water?

A full 20g filled with water should weigh around 220ish.

Still distributed to the outside. The bottom piece of glass doesn't lay flush on the bottom. It is actually about 1/2" from the where the sides sit on stand. Kind of hard to explain, but if you were to take off the plastic trim around the bottom of the tank, you will notice that the bottom piece of glass doesn't make contact with the flat surface of your stand. The entire tank is being supported by the outer edge of the glass. I have repaired enough to know that this is how All-glass has made them for at least 20 years. In fact, if you have a bottom piece that is flush with the bottom edge of the sides (some perfecto tanks I believe but they could have been other manufacturers), you shouldn't put them on a flat surface. The glass is supposed to bow slightly under pressure and adding resistance will actually harm the tank, not help.

I have a 125g with ~300lbs of sand/gravel mix and well over 200lbs of rock plus water weight, due to displacement ~800lbs, and the stand does not have a flat top. It is open in the middle. All of the weight is on the outside rim of the tank.

itd be aroumd 200. 160 of water. around 20 of sand. around 20 of rocks.

Sounds too heavy for one lone drawer. You're better off buying/building your own stand where you can atleast trust it to hold the tank.

i am going to build one but i need a temporary fix. ill put it on my desk bc its held the wait of 2 10's before and ive been told it could hole my 29. anybody know how to reseal a tank? my 29 gallons corners look horrible and deteriated.

how would it weigh more then 200? 8lbs a gallon = 120 those rocks do not equal 80 pounds in any way.

btw, water is 8.25lbs a gallon i think, so 5 more lbs, the tank itself is like 25lbs(or is it 20?), the gravel is probably 40lbs+, and a 20G when filled to the tip top is actually 22 gallons, the filter full of water weighs 4lbs+/- 1lb, heater is 1lb, other equipment, plants/decor. etc

lots of links

google

type in resealing fish tank, and u'll get hundreds of links

youtube is the best though;)

and if u want to try it,

u can empty the tank carefully, leave like 5 gallons in there, keep the rocks stable, then move it, i did this with a 20G which moved 100ft away into my living room, and it was 1/2 full + 20lbs of gravel too, me and my dad worked it out, remember to keep the part of the tank ur holding and ur hands dry;)
