So, I got a $160 T5 HO 48in CoralLife light off of Foster&Smith. It got here, light works fine, but the 10K bulb is defective, it doesn't work. However, I noticed that buying a new bulb is actuallty cheaper then shipping the entire light back to them. :bs:

So, my question is this: would you just buy a new bulb and let the mettar rest, or would you still ship the entire product back for a $18 bulb replacement?

Did you email them? Are you talking about shipping the entire fixture back or just the bad bulb?

I only got the light today, have yet to email them, and would need to (I think) send the entire fixture back in order to replace the single bulb (as they came with it).

Aren't you capable of replacing the bulb yourself? If anything I think they will just send you a new bulb

You need to call them, this is an opportunity for them to wow you with great customer service and replace the broken bulb in the easiest way possible.

Email them and see what they will do for you. Also did you move the bulbs around so that you know it is the bulb and not the fixture.

If it is only the lamp they will replace it but you will need to email them with your customer and sales information. Everything they need to know is on the invoice.

Yes I did. The other bulb works fine in both sockets and put in with either end up, but the 10k didn't work no matter how I put it in or where.

This is my second time buying off the net, so I'm a total newb. What's an invoice? (waits for disbelief or similar)

I don't keep 48in T5 bulbs just lying around you know... I could probably find one if I went to the fish store, but I'm not sure if it's worth the money or if I should just ask for a new bulb. Which is, mind you, what I'm going to do.
