It doesn't look like Rich was confused really at all. When I brought up the death post he said he just wanted to cover the possibilities. Seems to me he just didn't want to discount the fact that Frosty COULD have taken the shot but was pretty sure it was the evils.
To the bold: The subsequent posts have to do with the nature of the Frosty role, not the hit itself. Dun just wanted to know if Frosty had one shot...not if he/she took the shot. He even mentioned the "evil lurking" pointed to the scum.

I was between Dun and Bally and I couldn't pick which one I thought was more scummy. Bally was jumping every which way while Dun was still sticking to his guns, despite the questionable nature of his posts. I questioned the two of them throughout the day but eventually I went back to look at the posts and realized Dun had a pretty substantial lead. So a vote on Bally really became out of the question anyways. I felt my vote was best just putting the nail in the coffin for Dun. I'll stand by my questioning and my subsequent vote though.
