10 gallon stocking!

Anniegump covered the frog issue pretty well, so I'll just state that you'd best catch those frogs if you can and stick them back in the 10gal... regardless of whether you want them or not, you took them into your home and in doing so basically agreed to properly care for them and ensure their survival. By releasing them into the wild you have broken said agreement and I personally would no longer trust you with living creatures.

On to the betta. Why not keep it in the 5.5 gallon tank with some shrimp? That way you get the shrimp and the betta doesn't go into a bowl with water changes every "few days". Also, if it DOES go back into the bowl, you should do a water change every day to prevent a buildup of toxic byproducts like ammonia and nitrite/nitrates. Or have it live in a heavily planted nanotank (like a vase with plants and such, they can look very nice if you do this).

On to the puffers. As cool as they are, with your track record they would be dead or released into your pond by the end of a week. They need inverts like snails and shrimp to feed off of, and are superpoopers, meaning they need better filtration then other fish of their size. I would avoid them if I were you, until you have prooven your ability to keep high-maintenence livestock (like the frogs) alive and well in a tank.

Now for the Celestial Pearl Danios and the stocking of a 10 gallon aquarium. I think the frogs should go back into this tank, but if they don't here is what I would stock it with:

6X Celestial Pearl Danio
1X Sparkling Gouramis

Then I would plant the tank with a standard 10gal hood/light because plants seem to LOVE that amount of light for a 10gal. I would def have a filter and do 50% water changes weekly.

I hope you listen to the advice and comments people are giving you Patrick.

I think some swordtails, tetras, platies, and maybe some mollys if you get a slightly larger tank.(those fish like to school). For a ten gallon maybe a variety of either mollys, tetras, or platies. I find that those go really good toghether.

I'm probably going to make my 20 gallon for swordtails.

thats against the law and its bc of you the some snakes are being banned. you and people like you are dooming the keeping of animals bc you cant be responsible

Not that I want to re-flame this issue, but I am curious if this makes me an irresponsible law breaker.
When he states he released the frogs into his "moms pond" this is what I picture:
IMAG0251.jpg

This is my dads koi pond. A pond I have been upkeeping since his passing. A pond I stock with tad poles every spring in order to get frogs for the purpose of insect control. A pond I stock with crayfish as well as koi. Animals all readily available at local lfs for the sole purpose of stocking a pond. And, more than likely I would have done the same thing and moved the frogs to the pond if I wanted to free up a 10gal tank. I know the health of my own animals.
I highly doubt that situation is against the law, or endangers wildlife.
I guess my point is that before we all jump on our "responsibility" soap box the question of "what kind of pond is it?" Should have been asked.

I put them in the pond because it was the best home for them. Tomorrow when I post pics you can see what they went into.

We have dozens of frogs in there, my brother even raised a frog in his 10 gallon for a while.

Nobody would take them, I am too busy/not enough money for crickets. What would you have done as a 13 year old with a mom that has an amazing pond?

I am still going to correct my mistake though.

You see? This was the point I was trying to make.

While I am in 100% agreement that animals/pets should not be released into the wild for the obvious reasons of disease, reeking havoc on a local Eco-system, or death of the pet because the environment can't meet the needs to sustain its life.
(A perfect example is Asian Carp)

However, to make a 13 year old feel like he made a mistake, or "doomed" the keeping of animals, without knowing all the facts is wrong.

Right or wrong here, a 13 year old made a decision that he felt would be best for these creatures.

Unless this pond is a community pond or off in the woods somewhere with a bunch of wild, naturally occuring species making up the Eco-system, or you knowingly put the frogs in the pond that can not provide the essentials to provide them life....don't feel you've made a mistake or doomed animal keeping.

If your moms pond is something like mine I see no difference between moving them from the 10gl to the pond or from your 10gl to a 75gal.

i would see your point IF it was fenced in with fencing they vouldnt get out of. if those frogs breed there is no way you could keep the frogs in that one area.
