10 gallon stocking!

The 5.5 is a home for a day or two, I have to re-home some cichlids first.

My LFS will give me store credit on the catfish, if I have to I will return it. I am going to upgrade, but if I can't do it in time I will sell it to the LFS.

I will not release it to the wild, I already have a plan for it, it is under control.

What do you recommend for diet?

How many fish tanks do you have Patrick125? Empty or full. What are the cichlids in and what kind are they and how long have you had them?

You should research these animals "BEFORE" you get them. :)

So just to clarify-you know everything about what kind of fish you want to keep/their requirements now?
If not get into some serious researching now! From the sound of it your previous tank suffered severely from overstocking, no heating, no cover, no social possibilities, ect.
Please make sure you know absolutely everything about a community tank before setting it up. As for adding fish to a betta tank (seeing the betta is your first fish in the tank), it worked in my 39 gallon super densely planted tank (result being a very compatible male betta that does not chase anything, unless they nibble at it) but it will not work in a 10 gallon! Too little space for the other fish to escape.

i wouldnt say it wont work in a 10. i along with many members have kept bettas in a 10 gallon community. you just have to pick the right fish.

depends on the betta. you would have to keep the temp at 78 whoch is low for the betta and high for the cpds.you would need full grown ones too.

The cichlids are getting out of my 20 gallon no matter what. (Agression, I hadnt done my research when I got them)

My tanks:
20 gallon with an eclipse catfish
10 gallon for Nama and a school of something
5.5 gallon for holding ghost shrimp

I'm setting up a 75 gallon SW for 1 volitan lionfish (5.5 gallon will hold food)

I google it then I ask y'all, I would rather double check with people I trust.

I do my own research, but I think it is important to ask y'all too.
