led lights for hood

Yeah, Even if it was still under warranty, if the TopFin hood came with a tank kit, Petsmart will only take it back with everything that came with the kit and then give you a whole new kit. You have to watch though, because some items like Petsmart's value brand air pumps and other stuff come with lifetime exchanges.

Chickie, keep in mind, you can always mail-order an inexpensive LED strip light from eBay and just attach it with double-sided tape or the like to the underside of the hood. I've done that. It works fine.

Okay thanks. But double tape may not hold cause of moisture, the lights are right there. I'm calling the company tomorrow and if all else fails new hood Walmart carry's the same one. I'm only on disability so can only do so much. Thanks again.

You don't have to be rude I'm disabled so unable to fix. Besides the bulbs blue as far as I can tell. It's a topfin led lights for a R04075/W 5 strand.
I had the same problem, where the wires entered each light was not sealed, so moisture entered the LED section and each LED burned out. It took about 4 years for that to happen. The switch and transformer are still good. I surched the Internet and found no replacements. Pets's smart didn't have a clue other than purchasing new hoods. I sent an email to Tetra and they said they do not saI'd they do not sale the replacement LEDs but because I was so nice they sent me replacement lamps for both hoods. While I was waiting for the replacement Lamps I went to a super Walmart in the auto section and purchased a LED kit that had 2 LED strips. I stuck them under the hood and cut the plug off of the old lamps, and wired the strip light to the plug, I tried them first to make sure I have the correct wire together. Used electrical tape to tape up the wire nuts (note silicone caulking in the wire nut would have been better) so now I have light until the new ones come in. I am disabled, 13 bulged disk from a 5 story elevator failure in 2012, so this can be done by a disabled person just work slowly and safely.
