Brought out the big guns

Very nice!!! What are those tiny green fish? Pic 5,6,7,8 Are they all guppies?
Pictures 5, 6, and 7 are kubotai rasboras, a species of microrasbora. They dont grow any larger. They are 3/4 of an inch. Theyre in my 10g nano tank.

Picture 8 is a sparkling gourami, another nano, a tankmate of the kubos. I got 3 of those in my nano, that one is the male.

When did you get a shrimp?

When did you get a shrimp?
Ive had ghost shrimp for a long while.
But i recently got two bamboo shrimp. Bit more advanced for shrimp, and ive always enjoyed seeing them at the store... finally felt confident enough to try a couple out. I will probably get more because theyre pretty awesome.

Is it a bamboo shrimp?
Yeah, i have two so far.

These photos were taken with my phone. Theyre a bit shy as theyre still settling in. Theyre hard to get a clear good shot of them because theyre hiding a lot in my sword plant during the day above my sponge filter lol

I agree they are awesome! I have only 1 of them in my 90g. I went to get more but they sold out before I got there. I saw them at an earlier visit and they made me crack up right there like a crazy person lol. But they were all like 1" and all lined up in a row at the front (bc that's where the flow was) with their net paws all open! Soo cute! But yeah, I love my bamboo shrimp. He's 3" now! He's also a more of a grey brown color, always been that way. I love their little net paws ;) I don't think I have any recent pics of him either. He hangs at the back of the tank in the crypts right in front of the powerhead. It's like as if they have a pattern eating little particles from their net paws if you watch long enough haha! Idk how long they live for, but he's 3 years at least, i'd have to look at QT pic dates. But I'd like more.

Cool! They're filter feeders right? What tank are they in?

Yes, they are filter feeders but that is also the problem; it is hard to provide their nutritional needs in an aquarium and they don't live long because of that. Very neat critters, but I don't recommend keeping them.

In my 20g in my bedroom, as its my only one without a baffled filter, so they can sit in the filter current freely. I also added some branches of driftwood directly under the filter outlet so they can get powdered foods right from the current.

I have read they can be tricky. I set up a specialized spot to perch on directly under the filter outlet. I have powdered food that i put directly into the outlet for them. Both i have seen eating. They like the sponge filter bubble outlet especially.

But ive also kept bryozoa colonies without issue either, and theyre filter feeders as well. Well. Until my corydoras pygmaeus ate the entire colony.
