Very nice ! It does look like only the center third of the tank has lighting though?
Yes I’m still tinkering with the light that came with the hood and the one I bought in addition ( with timer ) I do have to find a better placement they both are centered in the middle and I’m still tinkering a way to move the other one off to one side or the other with the s cupsVery nice ! You did! And that is what I intended on ordering. While I was shopping around online hubby was shopping In store for glo fish lights and knew I needed a timer and picked this one up for me because it was submersible and didn’t know I had a better option picked. ? I do enjoy that him and the kids are “in” on the hobby this go round this time though. Prior tanks they could care less hahaDid I ever recommend getting a led strip tape or was that someone else?
I am still kinda struggling with the look and placement of the plants. But I figured getting things in and growing and let it fill in and maybe I will like it a tad more lol. & once that happens I may stick the secondary light on the back glass if it can be hidden better. I do have new growth on some stems. While one of the short new plants isn’t doing well but I haven’t pulled it yet.If your plants are growing, and you like the look, I wouldn't change too much. It's gonna be easier to move needy plants closer to the light than it is going to be to get more complete coverage from the hood as it stands.
Ok, I can actually remove the bubble wand entirely ,I have the sponge filter going in the corner and the HOB I have shoved as much filter media as I can to slow the flow without stopping the bio wheel. So I can’t really slow the surface flow any more. I can test ph at lights out tonight and lights on tomorrowFor your tank, a led strip tape would be the best (and even cheapest?) solution, currently the plants on the sides don't get enough light. I would not expect those stem plants to grow very well at the moment, they probably will loose the lower leaves. That doesn't matter, when you get the led strip they will take off again. Do check the pH when the lights go on and when they go out. I see you have a lot of surface agitation and bubbles going on, this is not necessarily good for the plants, depending on the circumstances. But with the pH and KH we can see if they have enough CO2 available.
