Check out these cuties. Got them to buddy up with my Ambiacus so he could at least have buddies that look more like him since it is impossible for me to get a hold of more Ambiacus.

He likes them, the three were following each other around this morning. Hes been more active since getting these guys, that makes me happy.

My Ambiacus is sitting behind the newbie here, look at his happy mug.

to be clear the differences are that the Ambiacus has an eye stripe through the entire head/chin where as the Leucomelas stop at the chin?

Nice pics!

Yes, and the leucomelas are smaller species and not as tall bodied. The black in the dorsal fin also extends more in the leucomelas.

There are many others who all look alike as well. Brevirostis, agassizii, some numbered ones, etc.

My ambiacus on his own for the record. Thought he was female but got a good view of him from above, he shows a male cory profile (widest at the pectoral fins. Female cories are widest at the belly just past the pectoral fins).

Very cute! I had 5 or 6 several years ago. Mine were a bit shy.
So far yes a bit jumpy, but not any more than my weitzmani, who are very skittish cories. These guys seem to be way more social together though, constantly with one another which is adorable too. One is a little less skittish than the other one.
