Erm... don't really want to do that. You can easily stress them out, plus ruin a slime coat. Learnt from experience.. Fish are one of the pets that you admire from afar. No touchy.

I know. It's just cool to be able to do it. Never had a fish that let me do it.
Ive only done it one though.
Probably wont do it again or at least for a really long time.
However there apre plenty of people that hold up flowerhorns and discus but I don't really agree with that.
Anyway. Just something cool that I was able to do for the first time.
lol

As long as you have wet hands you don't damage the slime coat of the fish. It is only stressful for the fish if they aren't tame. I handle my weather loaches every day, when I hold my hand above the water they will climb on to them. They want to be played with but weather loaches and chagoi are exceptions almost all fish species don't like to be petted or handled. Some species have exceptions like oscars and shovelnose catfish, but then most fish species don't have that, like you won't find a cardinal that want to be petted...

She was clam for a second or two and then started to wiggle a lot so I let her go.

Don't worry about it that's nothing. It's good if they feel comfortable and aren't skittish.
This weather loach vid was supposed to be in my previous post..

It's not my video, just an example of how tame they are I thought you guys would want to see. They are tamer and easier to handle as rodents
Oh, ok.
thanks for sharing.

I never ended up getting the stargrass but the kerris are available again.
But I should probably wait though right?
Edit: My other source is getting tetras back in stock. Still no Kerris though. They are larger but im not sure how much larger. But Id have to get 8 or 16.
