Hemiathus macranthem, you call it pearlweed, I've also heard baby tears (not HC that'd be dwarf baby tears)
Ahhh

Fed him some baby brine shrimp today, he enjoyed them

This guy has not accepted frozen food yet though. But that's okay, I don't mind doing live food either. Hatch baby brine shrimp no issue, and can do other live foods as well for variety. He really liked the mosquito larvae, but definitely a seasonal food for him.

Thanks for the close up plant pics, Noodle. That seems like longer leaves than I remember my HM having. Emersed vs submerged maybe? I don't know...there's also MM, similar I think, micrathemum micramoides? I just try whatever my plant clubbers share ;)

Acorn is looking prettier by the day! I love that you are feeding him such great live foods, I know I don't have the patience lol.

It's submersed, the plant. Just the tank is shallow, and the plant has been left to grow so it looks like a taller plant. With such a narrow tank, gotta pick plants that would normally be used as a foreground plant as a background plant. I know it's it's true pearlweed, not the kind also called baby tears. I kill that one lol

I'm used to hatching baby brine shrimp, thanks to the baby fish. So hatching those for him isn't a problem.

And mosquito larvae are easy if you've got a planter outside with some water lettuce just kicking around where you can harvest them from it. Just collect, strain, then rinse, then house them in a jar to siphon out with a pipette. They'd be a seasonal food though.

Hes pretty fat from all the food yesterday lol

I cant get him to take frozen daphnia or such, but I can trick him into taking frozen bloodworms.
Mozzie larvae are all done for the season.

Aside from the frozen, he gets live baby brine shrimp.

Had to trim his pearlweed, crazy plant. A lot of the epiphyte tissue cultures melted to oblivion in the front, unfortunately.
