My betta usually enjoys a little salt added to his water. Recently, there's been a little fin tearage as a result of him speed-swimming through some aquarium plants. I added about 2tbsp. to my 10 gallon, to help with healing. However, I'm looking forward to getting some cory cats in about a week. Can they tolerate the salt?

sure, they'll be fine.

Let me tell something to you (voice from happyfeet)

Corries WILL NOT die! lol

I have done 2 water changes before on my 55g. Where a couple of them floated at the top (temp differnce put them in shock). I touched them witht he net and BOOM back to life.

I did a WC today. An hour after i noticed one of my cories was floating. I touched it with the net and BOOM back to life. And i had no idea how long he was floating.

I love cories now.

i only add things to my tank for as long as there is a problem. once they are healed there is no real reason to keep adding it.

Oh yes, I apply that rule to my tank, as well. After the next water change (which won't be happening until after I get the cories), no more salt in the tank. :)

I don't add anything to the tank when there is fin tearing..I just keep the water changed thru water changes...

if I notice fin damage (and there always is with breeding angels)I just up the water change schedule a bit. maybe 2-3 times per week.
