My dad who is 70 told me a cab driver charged him $305.00 for a 34 mile trip....Was wondering, is that the right price? It seems kind of expensive just for ride..That is almost $10.00 a mile..

There is something wrong..He got scammed because he does not know English too well..It suppose to be about $3.50-$4.00 per mile and not $10.00 a mile especially for a long distance ride! I want to report!!

it depends on where u live, san antonio 7 miles will get ya bout 18 bucks, also depends on cab company...still sounds expensive, hope u got proof if not make the driver produce his log(in SA cabs have to keep a drive log)

seems a little pricey for to me. here it is about 3$ per kilometer if even that much.

I agree...here it is $3.00 when the meter is turned on, then $.20 for each 150 meters, which works out to $75 for 54km/34miles....waiting in traffic, however, puts the meter on a time-rate, so I can see the fare doubling-tripling in heavy traffic, but that still falls very short of $305.

Gods, I hope not...it is $1.33/km here in Calgary....$3/km would be $4.83/mile.

If the taxi ride was 100 miles which some people take a cab for that long, it
would have been $1000!! I have to report because the low life cab driver took advantage of my father who does not know English that well..And plus he is 70 years old!

I know I love taking cabs in Calgary and Vancouver, they are dirt cheap in comparison to most smaller cities in BC. It cost me 17.50 to go about 6km which works out to just under 3$ per km in Kelowna. Calgary is quite a bit cheaper.
