Undergravel Filters

Lets see if I can better clarify things here. I'm using a 60gallon Hex tank with only a 1 and a half foot by 7 1/2 opening on the top. There is a hole in the bottom of the tank for the intake to the Canister filter. It is covered by the UGF then Crushed Coral. On the side of the tank there are 2 Return holes one at the top and one near the bottom.

Right now there is CC, From what i've read its a big no no. So i'm planning on ditching the CC and going to sand. I was thinking of Switching the Canister around so It takes water from the holes on the side of the tank then pumps water up through the bottom hole.

Then taking a rubber hose and putting it in the Bottom hole and running it to a Powerhead so the powerhead is pumping cleaned water around the tank. This way I dont have to worry about sand being sucked into the filter from the bottom hole.

I would just run a short peice of PVC and some lockline out of the bottom. You dn't want the powerhead to either suck more water than the cnaister can pump or have the canister push to much water thru the powerhead.

No prob I have Primary progressive MS so sometime my hands don't work well. Just a part of life, no biggie!!!

Heck, I don't have any problem like that and I STILL can't spell worth a da_n.
It's not because of my age either cause when I was young I was at least as bad as I am now.
A lot of us can't point a finger at others for spelling, or at least shouldn't.
