decided to get a guitar. would like your advice!

I kinda figured you were more into the old skool. You just can't get the speedy play out of some of those guitars, but they sound like crap when played clean. So it really depended on what you were looking for. I'm not going to knock fenders, or chevys for that matter.

If you want a good vintage guitar for blues, find yourself a VOX Lynx or custom. The red guitar in my mugshot is a 68 Super Lynx. Still if it's between the 2 choices, I'd still take the jazzy.

BTW I own 2 chevy's and a fender

thing that sucks is that music shops don't have jazzmasters on display.. They're always special orders, so I can't even try one out. . .

Cheech, see if you can find a guitar show closeby - if you get a good one you can play anything you want. Plus they are fun.

Decided on the Jazzmaster.

been listening to a lot of Sonic Youth lately, and the sound they have sends shivers down my spine.

The music we play tends to lean towards their style as well. Lots of alternate tunings, lots of different different sounds/effects. . .

Now I just need to gather some funds to make it happen . . I'll post some pics when I get it!!

If Fender guitars are like Fender basses, play a dozen of the model you like, then pick it. Don't order one on-line. The differences can be huge even within the same model.
