80 Gallon Tank

They have the adipose fin which the emperor tetras do not have. A very good way to distinguish differences between the two. The emperors are far more aggressive than the kerris. Kerris are very hardy and are prone to being pot-bellied once fed so feed them sparingly.

Scientific name:
Emperor: Nematobrycon palmeri
Kerri: Inpaichthys kerri

Any suggestions on what kind of freshwater setup to go with? Prefer to not have fighting in the fish tank.

Personally, i think it would make an excellent Reef...

I'm a goldfish fan. How about a couple of beautiful Ryukin? Peaceful, colorful, tank.

I'd say Go with..
12 Rummynoses (I agree with everyone when they say they are the best small schooling fish)
6 Halfbeaks
6 Swartz's Cories
6 Panda Cories
2(pairs) German Blue rams
1 or 2 Discus Pigeon Blood or Pigeon Snake Skin (i know nothing about them and my tank is too small but have always thought they would be a great centerpiece fish)

Maybe substitute something for a pleco, catfish, or loach?

Ok so I'm definately going with Rummies they are very nice looking when they color up.

Cory cats are a must have they are so full of personality.

German Blue Rams any reputable online breeders you guys can order pairs from? The local shops are getting those Rams from Asia and I'm not too excited about that.

Hmmm a Discus or 2? There uber sensitive to water right? Would Altum Angels be a good alternate?

Pleco yes maybe more than 1. I'm thinking some from the Hypancistrus family. Sadly Zebra plecs aren't an option at the current market pricing.

The wife and I debated on going Salt but the extra equipment, maintenance and costs involved outweighed the pros :(
