Hagen Nutrafin CO2 System - no bubbles at all?

I tried to follow the directions and the tip is setup pretty much just like the picture. Is this what you meant by "above the notch?"

As soon as I run out of the included packets, or if the packets don't work well enough, I'm going to start running my own mix. I'll be scouring this site to find the best mix for my conifg. Hadn't heard of that wine yeast before, you say I don't need baking soda when using that?

Yeah, that's exactly what I meant. I guess you paid more attention to the directions than I did, lol.
 
Hey, have you had any luck? I just bought a system myself and have not seen any bubbles yet either. The yeast definitely isn't old considering that it was recently purchased.

Mine came with expired yeast packets. Check the date on the bottom rim of the package. Those things have been sitting in a warehouse for a long time, so "when you bought it" doesn't really matter.

Oh man, good point Sammie - I'll check when I get home. I figure the activator packet can just be replaced with 1/4tsp of wine/baker's yeast?

It sure can. :grinyes: And if your water is soft, i believe, then you can use a 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda as "stabilizer."
 
03/2006 expiration date on a product purchased 06/2007... fantastic. Oddly, I'm seeing bubbles ~every 30 seconds now.
