I just buy the ones at WlMart. Various sizes and types. Just rinse thm real good before you put them in there and why not let a few of them float for a realistic feel for the fish. In fact, I have at least 4-5 bigger fake plants left floating since I keep mollies. They really love it.

They'll be OK with guppies. Just care for them like any other molly. What kills me is to see these "tatooed" balloon mollies where they actually tatoo these fish with stuff on the side of their bodies.

I believe they're just like any other mollie except they've been genetically mutated in a lab. I don't like them for this reason. They remind me of an english bulldog. Look awkward and it looks like a struggle for them to just get around.

I had a 55g saltwater. I dumped eveything out of it. Rinsed it real good, let it sit for a few days so it could dry up and filled it up. Been running as freshwater for months and doing fine.

30" long isn't bad then. I was thinking tall as in a hexagon tank.

Being a tall tank I don't know if Lyrtail Sailfin Mollies would be good in there for the long haul in a tall tank. Those things get big and need back and forth room for swimming.

yeah, let the small nasty stuff and scum flow over. I personally used pool filter sand so my grains are a little bigger so play sand may flow over a little, but not enough to panic. Like the other poster said just fill it half or one third full with the sand.

I put it in a 5 gallon bucket. Kept the water flowing and kept my hand stirring in the bucket to get the cloudiness out. I did lose some sand, but not much.

Just curious. I have a 55g long mostly with mollies. I know some mollies live in the southeastern US and they can be acclimated to saltwater. So am I correct in assuming that mollies pretty much live in rivers and around the mouths of rivers that feed into the ocean? So would my aquarium benefit...
