Dwarf Rainbow with foot and mouth disease???

Hi guys, Thanks for the super fast feedback! Well maybe that picture was a bit misleading, let's try with this one. As you can see is not cotton-wool, it is like an hard bump, a callus...

Dwarf Rainbow with foot and mouth disease???

Hi guys, Can you please have a look at this picture and tell me if you know what could this be? The little guy started to have a swollen mouth or tongue a couple of weeks ago, no redness nor strange behavior. All parameters in the tank are fine (details in my profile) but a couple of weeks...

Dwarf gourami disease identification - help!

Hi miss jess, I'm not very experienced but I had some problem with my Dwarfs in the past, the female died but the male survived to what I thought was DGD. I used "Anti Internal Bacteria" from Interpet because I couldn't get hold of proper antibiotics here in UK (if I would have used Maracin...

    Finally the day has come!

Wow guys, thanks a lot for your comments! Great link sorberj! It come up with a couple of warnings (too few cherry barbs, as you already pointed out, Boeseman's too big for my tank and need a bigger group, gouramis can be dangerous to cherry when breading) but I'm just about on budget on...

    Finally the day has come!

I read you go by size of tank. My tank area is 80x30 sq cm (about 32x12 sq in) height is 40 cm (16 in), so 80/90 cm (32/36 in) of fish is the recommended max. With my current stock I will eventually have 100 cm of adult fish, the 2 Boeseman's being the biggest of all at 10cm (4 inch) each. But...

    Finally the day has come!

Hi Bob, thanks for your input. Well so far I've selected fish that I reckon should go well together, now (2/3 wks) I'd like to add just the panda corydoras (I don't have bottom dweller in my tank), I know this will go out of the tank capacity... but when really? I'm quite keen in getting another...

    Help with my Quarantine Tank

Can't you just empty the tank and store it away after you finish? I've just bought one myself and this is what I'm planning to do. Apparently you can prepare it in matter of hours (just a bit of matter from the main tank, I've used one of the sponges of my main filter for the QT filter, but you...

Testing the water - How fast does Ammonia build?

Something else wrong with your LFS is that they shouldn't sell stock arrived the day before... or maybe was that also a special order from you? Anyway I think they should keep the fish a few days before selling them.

    Finally the day has come!

Hi guys, yesterday I found the Rainbow fish and I could resist, now in my QT I have 2 Boeseman's and 4 Dwarfs :) Now I've reached the limit of my tank but I'm really tempted to buy a couple more.... My point is that even if I will have about 100 cm of fish at full size, at the moment I just...

    Dwarf Gourami with Hole-in-the-Head??

I understand that some meds can kill the bacteria transforming the ammonia in nitrites and then in nitrates... Additional big water changes (with heavy substrate cleaning) can also have a bad effect on the bacteria...

    Sick gourami

Just a quick note since I see you are now in good hands :) Surely Maracyn-2 must be better than the Interpet product, in UK is very difficult to get prescribed antibiotics (even for humans...) this is why I had to find a substitute (but during the Christmas holidays I'm in Italy for a couple of...

    Sick gourami

Sorry I was away for a couple of days, hopefully the maracyn-two helped. As I said in my previous post what worked for my gourami was the Interpet anti internal bacterial plus a bit of salgt (less than 0.1%).

    Sick gourami

Hi lil, I suggest you read my post: http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=210031 In the first bit of the post things don't go very well and the female gourami die, but in the last couple of pages we save the male :) During my limited experience I've noticed that gourami (at...

Gourami infected wound - Help please!

I agree Lucy had at the least a fungus, then maybe also a bacterial infection. If I just had started treating her sooner... But you know when I asked the people at the LFS they just suggested that water conditioner with aloe... Anyway thanks to you I've learned a lot, and thanks to that Tommy...
