    HELP!!! nitrites still up!!!

All I can say is to continue doing wc's until the nitrites get under control .... I would do a 50%-75% then turn around and do another 50%-75% to try and get them under .25

taking water to FS how to transport?

Most probably do it for free....but your best bet is to spend the $20 or so to get an API Master Test Kit ...if you print off the online price on Petsmart's site they will pricematch it if it is lower online than in the store.

Mine usually get frozen bloodworms on water change days.... I figure they deserve alittle treat after I have been stressing them out alittle by vacuuming the gravel and such :)

    Ugh! My Python broke!

Cup your hand around the end of the Python and suck....this way your mouth never touches the fishy covered parts :)

    Ugh! My Python broke!

I just stick the end in the tank...run it out the door....suck on the other end until I see it coming thru the hose and lay it down and let the draining/vacuuming begin. Thats the good thing about the Python hose being clear...you see the water coming before it gets to your mouth when sucking...

    Ugh! My Python broke!

yeah...you should be able to screw the brass adaptor in the faucet and then screw the hose right on to it and fill the tank.... I drain my tank out the door into the back yard so I never use it to drain. Only problem hooking it right to the faucet to fill will be adjusting the water temp...

Fish compadability and water changing questions

As for changing the water and gravel vacuuming I kinda alternate how deep I go when doing the vacuuming... One week I will not go as deep and mainly try to get all that is on top and maybe an inch deep the next I tend to get deeper and move things around and get under them better.

    Can you OVER filter?

Some fish are fine with the current..... I was just letting you know so you could look into what fish like it and what dont when you start fully stocking.

    Can you OVER filter?

You can never overfilter a tank..... But you can cause too much water current using multiple filters ..... if too much current is in the tank alot of fish will ignore the high current areas and bunch up in places where current is less.

    blue rams in 7g cube?

I couldnt imagine a pair of rams in a 7g ....they would bother each other all the time. I would suggest getting a 20g long tank if you are wanting to keep a pair of rams and another school of smaller fish.

    Adding Ammonia to start cycling

A 10g wont take very much ...but depending on the stregth of the ammonia it will vary. Just start with a few drops (4-5) then give it about an hour to mix well and test.... then you can pretty much judge how much it will take from there by what the few drops you put in did. Just keep adding...

    just wont stop fighting

Well you asked for opinions and it seems the best option was given... I dont see what putting both in a 10g and letting them battle it out is going to solve other than you wanting to just see which one kills the other first :( You asked how to keep them from fighting yet you are encouraging...

Cycling with low Ph / soft water

A pH below 6.0 can stall a cycle out... I had pH drops during my fishless cycle to 6.0 or below and it would stall it out. I would do a 30% water change or so to buffer the water back and it would do fine for awhile.... I got where I would start keeping a check on it weekly and do a WC if I...
