    Ogre's 44g Build

Another quick update. The trumpet coral is definitely dividing. Pretty soon I'll have three heads on that one. The torch looks to be adding another head as well. We had a problem with the Zoas not opening... then discovered zoa eating nudobranches. We sucked up 7 today and most of the zoas...

Did you have it resting on the plastic cover or over open water? If you had it resting on the cover, did you have heating problems? If not, how did you mount it? This is a pentagonal tank.

    Ogre's 44g Build

All I've got is PCs. 96W 10k/actinic. I know, it's probably not really enough for the SPS. Like I said, it was a freebie. I'd like to go T5 or even metal halide. The problem is that I don't have a top piece other than the plastic cover and the tank is pentagonal, so any lamps would have...

    Show me your costumes!!

Last year I went as a gangster. The mall cops were not amused with my trench coat and hat... or maybe it was the tommy gun I was carrying... it wasn't loaded.

    Thanksgiving roadtrip surprise!

Depends on where you're going and what kind of budget you have, it also depends on what you guys like to do. If you'll be in Texas, then I can help you out. I've lived here for all of my 36 years.

Kinda anti-climatic, but a good game. I will not vote for John next game... no matter how nuts he plays.

    Ogre's 44g Build

Quick update: I did a water change last night as well as hunted a few more flatworms. I got some new frags today. We got some dragon's eye zoas, a small leather frags, and a freebie birds nest SPS. We'll see how the birds nest does. It's going on the highest point it can. We're really...

Its official, I've converted to the dark side!

AS far as the chemistry goes, it's the other way round. The pH affects the calcium. Usually the lower the pH, the higher the calcium. Which is why I thought yours was very low. My kH is (now) pretty constant at 11 and that seems to keep the pH at about 8 - 8.2. Don't sweat the mushroom...

Pete. I know, I was half joking. It looks really cool. So, plywood, liner, water? What (if anything) are you using for a substrate?

Mafia #57: The Great Mafia War- The Game

My thoughts are much more leaning toward Rich being mafia than either of the other two. I still don't think that both Zaf and Lam are mafia. Of the two, I would put Lam at being slightly higher on the mafia list than Zaf. The only basis I have for this is my interpretation of the PM thing...

OK, you seem to have the same problem I do in keeping the pH OK. I'm going to suggest a hardness buffer to keep the kH and pH a bit higher. Calcium seems really low, especially considering your pH is slightly low. Also, salinity is a little low for reef. The buffer I use is Seachem Marine...

Firefish are swimmers. I don't know what your dimensions are, but a firefish might be a little cramped. Take a look at aquariacentral and look at marine nano fish. There are some neat ones and a firefish may be OK. As far as a skimmer. IMHO, if you're bioload is low and you keep up with...
