    Weird...

Yeah, seems like different PetSmarts get these "opportunity fish" at different times. My local PetSmart had the ember tetras, peacock gudgeons, celebese rainbows, and rummy-nose rasboras early this year. Right now, they are phasing out the royal "trifasciata" rainbows, bosemani rainbows (which I...

Sounds like it may be a synodontis of sorts..

    Help ID my fish

That is brochis splendens. Not a true corydoras species. They get a bit larger than most cories (3-4 inches or so) but are still schoaling (and therefore need friends). If you return him to PetSmart, they will quarantine him, then put him back up for sale. Do not worry about his fate.

To be SAE or not to be..

    Definitely a flying fox.

    About getting new fish

Those looks like serpae (or red minor) tetras, not true red phantoms.

    PetCo halting saltwater livestock sales--

I don't know. An entire corporation going to such a costly extent to play a joke is a bit far-fetched. Here's a post from another forum that I visit: Taken from: http://www.chins-n-quills.com/forums/showthread.php?t=134627

petsmart plan of attack 4/19 for possible $1 per gal tanks....

Good luck. I know my PetSmart will not do it unless the tank model is the exact same.. brand and all. Vague ads don't work here.

    PetCo halting saltwater livestock sales--

Apparently it was a pretty sudden decision. I was told that it was something being enacted on a national level, and I have confirmed this with a few other pet parents on some other message boards.

    PetCo halting saltwater livestock sales--

Anyone notice? I was told by a PetCo employee tonight that the corporation will discontinue carrying all saltwater livestock, birds (except keets and tiels), reptiles, and some small animals as of today, Tuesday, April 1st. Just thought I'd spread the word.

    Stocking suggestions...

I need help making up my mind. I have a 20g high that is cycled and ready to go. It is heavily planted and the substrate is pool filter sand. I was looking for stocking suggestions. I'm looking to do mainly "community fish." I was considering maybe a small school of rummynose tetras or a school...

    20 gallon community tank

Bettas are carnivores and therefore it may not be such a good idea to keep them with the neons (unless they are fully grown). My betta picked off my neons, one-by-one, and I actually witnessed it one night.

    Finally, pics of my tanks...

Wow. That odessa barb is gorgeous. They have some at my local PetSmart.. but they look nothing like that. Do they all get to be that beautiful, or just the males?

    Dwarf Puffer

Yeah, as the above poster stated, dwarf puffers are strictly freshwater. I have never seen them in Wal-Mart, but I have seen them in PetSmart, and the tag says nothing about being brackish, or needing salt for that matter. Wal-Mart regularly carries the green spotted puffers, though, which are...

New to the forums got 3 gold fish and 2 sharks

Looks like you've purchased two irridescent sharks.. They are not exactly slow-growers and can potentially get over four feet long. A 120g isn't close to cutting it for a single fish that size.
  18. Y

    name that fish

The first is a blue mickey mouse platy.

    Dwarf Puffer

Our PetSmart stopped carrying the dwarf puffers.. =[ and I'm under the impression that they all will within the next few weeks.
