Thanx, I'll have to get the iodide, which shouldn't be a problem since it's cheap. Still wondering if any invert food is needed.

    FireFox Questions

Thanx guys:) My Mom has been trying to get me to switch to Verizon DSL instead. I've been nervous about it though because it's always connected and obviously that means hackers or viruses can come through easier. However, they say they provide security with firewalls and such. Anybody use this...

The big guy gets to go outside.

He/she is beautiful:). I've notices before that the albinos seem more gentle, I couldbe wrong but it just seems they are more dependant on their caretaker because of the health aliments they can face from albinoism. I've owned a female leopard gecko for about 6 years now, and while she isn't...

    FireFox Questions

Okay I've switched from Internet Explorer to Firefox, all after completely wiping my pc clean and reinstalling Windows ME. My issue is as follows, Whenever I connect to my internet service, firefox doesn't launch on it's own but does fine when I manually launch it. Internet Explorer still wants...

Thinking of switching from XP to Linux...

I think you're right, I may just do that. I had a friend come over today to take a look at it for me, and it's more than likely because my version of xp is a bootleg. Thus, this explains why the system files only work for short periods, since he ran into the same problem. I originally had ME on...

Thinking of switching from XP to Linux...

My main reason for this is viruses and a need to protect the work I do on my pc. I used it a bit in college, but need some advice. Is it as simple to use as windows? My only only concerns really are with certain programs working on it, such as Adobe Photoshop 6, MSword (or similar program) and...

    Help With Hair Algea

Only 80 watts. They're on from 8am to 6pm usually. I also do water changes once every other week of about 6 or so gallons. I also dn't have a co2 system, but do use excel sparingly. I'll try that sqwirting method. Also checked out that site, and it seems maybe I could've upset things by...

    Help With Hair Algea

My 55gal is medium density planted with varying crypts, an amazon sword, hornwart,, java ferns, java moss and anacharis, but I still have problems with hair algea. I'm dosing flourish, excel, and potassium once a week with water change. What's the best way to rid myself of this stuff besides...

Advice Needed On Controling Swordtail Population

I was thinking about adding a male betta, after a trip to the petstore yesterday. Seeing them in those cups makes me want to save one. A betta may help the problem, but I also realize the shark could pose a threat to it. Do you think it would be possible to keep a betta in a 55 gallon with these...

Advice Needed On Controling Swordtail Population

I have 1 retail shark, 6 zebra danios, 13 white clouds, 4 kuhli loaches(might add more), and 5 swordtails, 3 of which are fry still. The two males are almost half grown now. I think I'd like to keep the little ones and let them grow into their own instead of handing them off to a petstore that...

are you an obsessive compulsive fishkeeper?

Nice fish CyberTrip, I hope you are going to put a cave or some decor in there for them. Plants wouldn't be bad either.:) Is that their ull size, or are they going to get bigger? They almost look too big for that tank, but they do have lots of cruising room which will be good in the meantime.

    dog cardiologist...

I agree with the above poster. The other thing I'd like to say is that I don't understand people who have these animals as pets and then decide they're not as worthy as a human for medical treatment. If you feel that way, DON'T GET ANY ANIMAL EVER. A year ago, our black lab mix was put down...

Starting a High Light Tank with Rare Plants

Sounds like it will be an achievement worth bragging about if you really pull it off. I can imagine how the rare plants are going to hurt your wallet. Unless of course, if you could find someone nice enough who is a native to Austrailia or Papua New Ginea that would collect and ship them to you...

how long should i soak the sand?

What you'll wanna do here is get a 5 gallon bucket if you can, and pour sand in(not to the rim, but maybe to about half the bucket). Either in a sink, or the bathroom tub, place the bucket of sand under a faucet running on high and stir the sand with your hand. The bucket will overflow, do this...

    Planted Tank question

Well, I've kept my 55gal at 72-74 degrees F successfully. I would stick with the 70's, not too cold, not too warm. Some plants may be picky about their temp requirements, but you should be fine in that general temp range.

Why do I need current in a filterless tank?

You should at least have an airstone in there, otherwise your fish choices will be limited to bettas and related species. Also as Watcher was saying, your plants will even need some sort of current to thrive.
