    Jeffrey's "Little Man" -ADA 60-P

Stand got a whole lot better the other night....installed a little fluorescent fixture in it. The difference is like night and day.... ...get it, you know, cause I put a light in it....so it's not dark any more....and it's dark at night....night and day...hehe :duh::duh::duh:

    Jeffrey's "Little Man" -ADA 60-P

Well, my Ecco burned out on me....long story. I returned it and replaced it with a Classic 2217. Man, is that thing a beast! It's pretty awesome and works PERFECT. The flow is just a tad high, but I didn't put as much filter floss in it as a normally do. Next time I open it up, I'll put some...

    Jeffrey's "Big Boy"---120g Planted

If you're gonna have a background, paint is the only way to go! Thanks to both! I'm really looking forward to playing around with the 24" front to back. I thought about leaving the overflow in there to hide some equipment(rather than put it inline), but I didn't want to lose any of that...

    Jeffrey's "Big Boy"---120g Planted

Painted that back. Before: Midway(styrafoam on the stand): And 4 coats of paint plus touch up later:

    Jeffrey's "Big Boy"---120g Planted

Thanks! I really put a lot of thought into it. I'm a bit commitment-phobic (as my wife will tell you), and that applies heavily to large purchases.

    Jeffrey's "Big Boy"---120g Planted

I did pay a little more for it to be drilled. I wanted it drilled. I had originally thought I'd buy a standard tank, and drill the back, but later decided that it'd be better to go with reef ready and remove the overflow. Getting a reef ready tank saved me from the risk of cracking the glass...

    Jeffrey's "Big Boy"---120g Planted

Well, I got to work and removed the overflow. It was a lot easier than I expected....I mean, I thought it was gonna be easy, but MAN was it easy. Before: After: I left the strip of silicone at the bottom. It runs across the silicone at the seams of the glass, so I didn't want to risk...

    Jeffrey's "Big Boy"---120g Planted

The tank is a 120g Marineland, 48"x24"x24", with a 700 gph corner overflow. I will most likely be removing the overflow and simply using the exisiting holes as the intake and output for my filtration system. There will be one input from the overflow hole. Output will either be entirely by a...

    Jeffrey's "Big Boy"---120g Planted

Thanks to both. While I didn't build it, I spent a LONG time looking for just the right stand. Unlimited multimedia messages really came in handy during that decision. I must have sent my wife about 50 pictures. Yeah, 4x2x2. The 2'x2' is a GREAT size for a planted tank IMO, and the 4' is the...

    Jeffrey's "Big Boy"---120g Planted

Well, it's finally time. I've been talking about it and planning it out for a year and now it's finally coming together, my 120g planted. To read a fair amount of background on me and my planted tanks, and especially the details leading up to this 120g, you can check out the link to my blog in...

    Jeffrey's "Little Man" -ADA 60-P

Ok....rather busy weekend, but I put together a little something: Hardscape: I moved the rocks just a bit during that actual scaping. Those stones are collected form the Eel River near the Humboldt Redwords in Northern California. Scape: Dry fill: Pretty much all of the plants came...

    Jeffrey's "Little Man" -ADA 60-P

Thanks. I'll probably have to rework some of piping, so I'm waiting until that time to unscrew it and fix it. Thanks! You should see my basement. I've promised my wife that once I have this one setup and my 120g setup, I'll clear out the 300 sq ft occupied by fish stuff. I'm excited about...

Don't let your Eheim Ecco get clogged, not thermally protected

I'll tell you what: DO NOT BUY THE EHEIM ECCO SERIES I replaced this filter not even A WEEK AGO. I had a minor issue tonight with my tubing, the filter ran dry for less than an hour(everything was cool when I went to the gym, not fine when I got back), and the replacement's pump is spent...

    Jeffrey's "Little Man" -ADA 60-P

Yeah, I was fairly disappointed about the screw. I haven't backed it out yet...when I do that, the damage will be real, for now I can just pretend.

    Jeffrey's "Little Man" -ADA 60-P

I've gotten involved with the Atlanta Area Aquarium Association and met some good people. The Fall auction was pretty amazing. Anyway, I made a bit more progress: The innards are all complete. Since I'm using AS, I'm dry planting and filling later. I had to wait for the pvc cement on my pH...

    New to Pressurized

Yeah, it's nothing to worry about. Before I had a back up, if I ever had to wait a few days, I'd just cut down the lighting or do an impromptu black out. Find a convenient refill place and then you'll never be down for more than a day.
