I have 3 balloon rams. I have mine in PH about 7.6 and so far so good, I gave up playing with the PH and figured a stable PH is better than one that's all over the place, I use blackwater extract and keep driftwood in the tank, which is supposed to help. So far so good, they are really showing...

I like the ghost catfish. Just make sure your tank is stable and cycled. I say give them a shot. And I recommend staying away from gouramis unless they are dwarf. Some of them get huge.

I'm really considering turning my 30 gallon into either a lamp brichardi or some kind of shelldweller tank. My LFS has a million brichardi babies, they are such pretty fish. Your heaters have alarms? how cool is that? Do they alert you when the water level gets low?

WOW 310 gallons is a lot to spring a leak! How scary is that? If I had a 310 gallon, I would stock it with 500 pygmy cories, haha j/k. I LOVE lamp brichardis, you should do one huge colony of them in there, that would be so awesome!

I agree with the shell dweller suggestion. I would love to turn my 30 gallon into a shell dweller tank.

Lol ok ok I'll give them to my lfs once they are grown out a bit. Use them as feeder fish :( kinda pointless to have saved them then. I thought maybe 1 would be ok but I won't chance it.

Huh that is really strange. Danios are usually indestructible. I would do a major water change. Like 90%. Could something have contaminated your water? Do you have well or city water?

I wasn't planning on keeping it in a 10 gallon. I have a 30 and a 75. The fry net is in the 10 gallon until the get a little bigger.

Fancy goldfish do best with no heater and lots of bubblers. I'm thinking about doing a panda oranda or whatever they're called tank myself. They are so cute.

Wow I love the fact that no matter what someones stocklist looks like someone always has to say it's overstocked. Its a 200 gallon tank I think you pretty much could put whatever u want in it without overstocking. I think maybe a dolphin would be overstocking lol. You need to be more worried...

Only way to see if the above post is correct is to test your tap water. But if your tap water reads 0 nitrates then obviously the nitrite consuming bacteria is there converting your nitrites into nitrates.

I wouldn't use melafix. I tried both pimafix and melafix together and had no results. See if you can find maracyn oxy. I've had to use it a couple times and I saw an improvement after 1 dose.
