Ah yes. All good points.
This is why I like to ask these questions here on AC. These are all things I never would have thought of.
Thank you and thx to everyone who replied.
I took my dinosaur to the fish store in hopes to switch from my old T5 fixture to the LEDs.
They wanted $100 for a 24" extendable for my 29 gallon freshwater.
I figure Online stores have to be able to beat that price but I don't know which one to get.
Any help I can get on which one to buy...
I know goldfish are hardy but we're hitting lows in the 30s (F) in Ohio around this time of year.
What's an ideal water temp to add goldfish to an outdoor pond if we're getting them from 70° water?
Thx!!
I have a 17 year old tank, 25%WCs/week, alternating filter rinses 1/month.
The best I can figure is it went back into cycle from adding fish, but that was over a month ago. Can it take 5 weeks to re-cycle?
Which would pose the next question, can it cycle again if not enough fish are kept in it?
So far I have some guppies and corey cats,I have around 8-9 fish total.
2 questions:
1) What are some small hardy fish (around an inch) that'd be a good fit for guppies and a 29 gallon w/plants?
2) When am I fully stocked if I'm trying to keep my water changes down to 25% once/week?
29 GAL well planted well established tank. All cardinals with 3 Cory cats.
I believe my mistake was bright lights since water parameters were within acceptable range.
If you've been successful in keeping cardinals I'm curious as to how often and what % water change you do.
What temp do you keep the water?
Did you match the PH to what the breeder used of did you use whatever your tap is, or both?
Thanks
I determined a bad check valve on my old CO2 setup. I got all new materials and replaced everything.
Last night the CO2 was cranking out on my new setup. Just this morning it isn't doing hardly anything.
What did I do wrong, maybe too hot of water in the 2 liter to activate the yeast?
29 gallon, two 18 watt (36 watt total) 6700k t5 bulbs.
Ferts, co2, and excel organic carbon.
If I wanted to increase my lighting should cut back my photovoltaic period from 8 hours maybe down to 6?
What's the shortest period you've used?
Has anyone ever had a leak on an acrylic aquarium?
Ever had to repair one?
Has anyone ever buffed out scratches on one? Did it turn out well and were there any challenges during the process?
Just curious how reliable they are compared to glass. I'm thinking about marrying mine and settling...
My understanding is that yoyos are slow growers, I'm only saying they grow slowly enough to where I don't notice the growth at all. Sure it could be something wrong, but if so, they survived it for 3 years. The problem seems isolated to the harlequin.
I forget what the reading was, I'm not...
