FS Brand New RENA Filstar xP1 Canister Filter

While I must assure you that your input is greatly appreciated, I should clarify (as is mentioned in the title and the initial post) that this filter is indeed brand new (never removed from the box). I would be willing to consider any reasonable offers.

FS Brand New RENA Filstar xP1 Canister Filter

Have a brand new Rena Filstar xP1 canister filter (aka API Filstar xP S) that I need to get rid of. I bought it but no longer need it and cannot return it. Never taken out of the box. Paid $130 (I think) for it at PetSmart. I'm asking $75 plus shipping. Or pickup, I'm in the Northern VA (DC...

    GloFish Tetras?

I stopped by my local PetSmart today and one of the employees told me they were getting new "Electric Green GloTetras" in the next few weeks. I had to look them up once I got home and discovered they are also produced by the GloFish company.. They look to be genetically altered White Skirt...

    petsmart question

PetSmart's policy is to price match their online website as well as other websites (and local competitors) WITH a brick-and-mortar presence.

    any chinchilla keepers here?

Great job doing your research! The only other thing I might add is (per the advice given previously in this thread) that chinchillas should not be placed in the plastic exercise balls.. They are very susceptible to heat stroke, and these balls have very little ventilation.. and thus have earned...

    Petsmart is wonderful.

PetCo here has OUTRAGEOUS prices, so I buy everything at PetSmart. And PetSmarts are supposed to match all online prices on their website.. I've seen the policy with my own eyes.. They will not, however, match other online competitors.

    petsmart GBRs

They're apart of the "special buy" program that PetSmart recently rolled out.. 6~7 difference species are rotated in and out every 3 months to introduce a bit of variety.

    Woo! $7 Roseline Sharks!

PetSmarts are rotating in 6 or 7 new species every 3 months as part of their "special buy" program. As far as I know, the species each individual store brings in depends upon the distributor that services them, thus the special buy fish will vary by region. Seems like each set of these fish...

    White growths on live rock?

Brilliant! Yes, they are pineapple sponges. Someone actually told me they were spirorbid worms at first, but nothing I could find about them seemed to be consistent with what I actually observe in my tank... No wonder. Thanks a lot! And thanks for the title fix, Catpicklesdog (:

    White growths on live rock?

I tried to research this but couldn't come up with anything similar. I've got these white growths popping up all over one of my pieces of live rock. They seem to have shown up over the span of just a few days, unless I am just not very observational. They look like white blobs or cylinders (they...

    True SAE? ID please!

I bought these guys to control the BBA in my tank.. so far they haven't helped at all. Not sure if it's because they are content eating other foods or because they are not the real deal. Sorry about the quality.. I don't have the skills nor high technology of others.. =X Tried my best! Thanks in...

Dwarf Gourami with wound on side

There is an illness known informally as dwarf gourami disease. I read a lengthy article about it in a fish magazine (I think it was stated to be viral) just a few months back. It appears that the issue is not highly published, but it eventually affects a large number of dwarf gouramis and almost...

    Specific gravity question!

I actually pointed out that typically brackish conditions have a specific gravity of about 1.010, and he told me that I was wrong. So, I don't think he misspoke. Thanks for the responses thus far.

    Specific gravity question!

Hi everyone, I just have a quick question regarding specific gravity. I currently keep my tank at around 1.023. I ventured to PetCo today and purchased a maroon clownfish. Most of their tanks, of course, looked terrible and many of their fish were sick. But the maroon clowns looked healthy and...

Video from fish area in Seoul

Underwater Diver, I live in America but travel to Korea maybe every other year. Next month, I'll be taking a month long course at 연세대학교. This is the first time I will be going for a reason other than pure leisure; I'm excited! I didn't realize there was an area like this in Seoul, so thanks for...

Need help: Cories sensitive to water??

We just use the strip test kits, but they are rotated out quite frequently, so we do not allow them to oxidize much before switching to a new kit. We have also had our water tested professionally. I understand that ammonia can be hazardous, but the problem is that all of our tanks run off of a...
