Key lime chalice not doing well

Alright then... I'll let you know what the test results read. And I may go ahead and move it under an overhang, just to be safe. Thanks!!

Key lime chalice not doing well

One of the frags I recently acquired was Key Lime Sherbert Chalice (I think I remembered that right!). The last 4 days I noticed it started shrinking, exposing some of it's skeleton around the edges. I had it on the bottom of the tank the first week, then moved it up about 2", which is when I...

    How tough is the epoxy?

I think I'm finally ready to epoxy my frags in place, but am wondering how hard it would be to move them if I need to (say, they end up not doing so great there, or when I upgrade my tank). Also, can I epoxy a frag disk with a montipora cap directly onto the back glass of my tank? Thanks!

Looking for info on snake coral

Awesome stuff... I was afraid it was dead/dying, as it always faces down and I never see it's polyps, but apparently that's just the way it does. I'll have to check on it tonight after I feed it. I'll post some pix, too, if I can get some decent ones. Thanks again!

Looking for info on snake coral

That's what Google and Yahoo found for me, too. LOL You must be a better searcher than I am... I went through pages of stuff and couldn't find anything. :( Thanks for the help, yet again, Greech!!!

Looking for info on snake coral

I got a small frag of "snake coral." I don't have a real name for it, but the tube is a pinkish color that's about an inch or so long, and the poylp at the end is a green color. Does anyone know what the real name for this is, or have any info on care for it? TIA!

    Which light is better?

Thanks for the advice -- the T5's it is! Now, to save up for the upgrades!!! :)

    Starfish Identification

I had a red/black one like this a long time ago. Was sold to me as a marble. Not sure if that's the right name for it, but it was not reef safe.

    Which light is better?

OK thanks! Sounds like we have a winner then. Oh, one more quick question, if I end up going with a 40g long, will the choice still be the same?

    Halimeda plant q's

It's certainly the Optunia. Found out it's a sand dweller, so at least I have it in the right place. I guess it's normal for it to lose segments, at least that's what it seems according to different searches I've done. Hope I can keep it from completely dying though. Thanks for the help!!

    Which light is better?

For a 55 gal standard tank, would a 260 watt PC with a single reflector, 2 12k and 2 blue bulbs be better, or a T5HO 216 watt with individual reflectors, 2 10k and 2 420 blue bulbs work better? I do not have any hard corals, just softies, but truth be told I may very well end up wanting to get...

    Halimeda plant q's

I recently got a halimeda, wanting to add some macro to the tank for obvious reasons. It's a small piece, about 6" tall with 3-4 branches. The biggest question I have is if it's ok that some of the segments are white. Most of it is a nice green, but a few strands are not. Is it dying? Should I...

Good, bad or otherwise? Little coral??

Maybe I had that backwards, then. Sorry!! LOL

Good, bad or otherwise? Little coral??

I'm leaning towards it being anthelia now, as the little fingers will curl up in a tight ball when you mess with them, but the stalk doesn't go in, where I think the Clove can pull itself all the way in.

Good, bad or otherwise? Little coral??

Ok, will do. I happen to really like it, too. I think it's a pretty color. If it kills all the other corals somehow then we'll have a problem, but hopefully I can keep it trimmed back if it sprouts up in unwanted areas. Thanks for the help!

Good, bad or otherwise? Little coral??

What's the difference in those two? Is there an easy way to tell which one it is, by chance?

Good, bad or otherwise? Little coral??

Cool deal! Should I move this one further away from the polyps it's near or leave it? Thanks!
