Haven't posted for a while it seems...just opened up a store at the mall and have been super ultra busy the past few months...haven't done much in my tank except feed and clean. Nothing new at all and things are pretty well I would say.
My puffer seems like he's doing alright. Just seems to be...
Won't we all...haha. It's become a family and friends concern...people ask me how he's doing when I talk to them on the phone and go straight to the tank when they come over. It's getting tiring already...but at least he's hanging in there! I do wonder how old he is though...I've had him for two...
Thanks betta killer, but it's an awful picture. I had to use flash...which I HATE because it was a night shot...only time I could see its skeleton (when it closes up)
He's getting better. No need to take him out of his mansion.
I have a feeling that if I hadn't had him for so long, he would have died pretty quickly. My thoughts are that he is so deeply established in there, that he was able to fight it off more efficiently.
Well...he's alive. I've been so busy the past week that I haven't been home to feed much at all. It's gotten better in some areas but started in others...overall he is eager and quick when it comes to eating and is either in hiding or surfing the wave. I don't know why it won't just go away...
You said your soft corals are fine...but are you keeping up with calcium levels? Snails and crabs need it too...at least I think...for building their exoskeletons and shells.
All clear! = D
Have you ever seen that sort of vibrant color in cold water before?
The most color I ever see when I go down to the tide pools is purple sea urchins and pastel green anemones. Then there are some really heavy set sea stars that come in red and orange varieties...not very vibrant...
I was down at the tide pools in Malibu (CA) the other day and saw this little slug fellow...really caught my eye because I don't usually sea stuff this colorful in cold water, especially locally.
Sorry for the blurry picture...my phone's camera isn't all that great.
I just saw him PUFF UP while he was surfing the wave...randomly. Out of nowhere, I just walked by and saw him looking like a BLIMP!!!!!!!
Wow...I have NEVER seen that before. Interesting to say the least.
No...they are worms. Trust me. You can scrape them off if you don't like them...they have hard shells though and will spread wherever they feel like spreading. Harmless though.
Here's a picture I just took of him. He's been out and active all day. First day he hasn't been hiding at all.
Notice the fin clear up and a little on the skin as well...I think progress is actually being made!
Sorry...haven't really had anything new to share. Well, no news is good news I guess...
His fin is clearing up little by little and he's still eating well...I dropped a clam in today and he ripped it to shreds with the others. His body is so-so. I don't think it's getting any worse...he still...
Let's see...we got a little bit of fin regrowth from where it was rotting away. Seems like the bacteria is slowing down, but not disappearing yet so to speak. Still hides a lot, but he comes out and enjoys a session of surfing the wave every now and then. He's eating his food well still and...
