I've been running an XP4 with a Penguin 400 on my 125 oscar tank for two months now. My tank has never been cleaner or clearer. That FX5 was a waste of money. Glad I made $125 bucks on it though. I now have three of my 4 tanks on XP's.

So I have a 125 with black sand and my wife isn't happy with it cause all the fish turned dark. Now she wants to switch it to white sand. what's the best way to do this with out having to move the fish and cycle the tank over. Tank has a MBU Puffer and 4 african cichlids.

I get most of my filtration media from hobby stores. Save tons of money and what you get last for many many months...Anyway came home from work this afternoon after being gone for a day in a half and my tank is crystal. Fish seem a little happier.

Well this morning the tank is still coudy but is alot clearer than yesterday. So looks like things are starting to adjust.

I've never had issues with priming on my Xp3 or Xp4. I don't understand what's so difficult.

Well it's been 24 hrs since the Rena Xp4 took over. Woke up to white cloudy water. Not happy. Guess I'll give it a couple days to adjust.

Yes I had those problems and when it would do it's daily purging, it would never start back up. I had to unplug it and plug it back in.

No I've had nothing but problems with the FX5. I think I just got a bad one. Don't want to risk buying another and having same issue. I know there's plenty of people who swear by these, but in my opinion I'm not impressed at all. Caused nothing but stress.

I did a little more than 25% wc. And I did put the FX5 media in the Rena. I filled the bottom with the pads and the other two with bio media. So far the smell is gone.
