Well, after staring at pics of moss for tanks for over 2 hours at work I decided I want a tank full of moss. For those that have veiwed my thread in the planted section you already know what im putting in it, but for refernce of everyone else heres what I posted.

So I decided im going to plan a 10 gallon moss tank. I REALLY want to focus around:
-Christmas moss
-Fissidens splachnobryoides
-Flame Moss
-Pellia

This is going to have a lot of drift wood branches in the back, medium piece in the middle and maybe another branch going from one corner toward the back. My main concern is what kind of lighting would I need for this? I don't need this to grow super fast but I also dont want to kill this stuff. No ferts will be dosed and a CO2 system will be in the tank. I was thinking of a Rena Smartfilter 30 and a power head
(150 or less gph) going from the front left corner to the back.

I changed the filter to a canister filter thanks to a suggestion from Inka :)

Right now I have the tank and the stand up with my sand waiting for all the other stuff. :)

It should be here this week!

Im cleaning the sand again tomorrow. I jsut noticed it still looks a bit dirty.

Interesting. I'll for sure be following this thread.

What kind of sand is that?

Same here, I will be very interested to see this develop. Look forward to more posts.
Tried a bit myself with ordinary moss (garden, the stuff you take out from between stones being "dirty weed"). Looks very nice in a tank, pearling very easy.

what canister are you thinking about getting? you could try a C-160, but that might be a little much for your tank...Tom Rapids Canister filter is a nice filter for smaller tanks such as yours.

cant wait to see it planted!

Yea its a Toms Rapid. It was the only canister I could find that wasnt super over priced and wouldn't suck all my plants out. Right now its the waiting game with UPS and FedEx on my stuff.

cant wait to see how it comes along

Same here, even my mom is excited on how this will look. :]

When I get this finished im going to set up my tripod and take a pic of the tank every morning and night for 2 months and make a time lapse movie of events. Should look cool :]

For now i'll just post these.

The second baggy, the small neon green one, was my first attempt at making these. I suck at sewing :P

The large green mess is for the back of my tank for my christmas moss that will grow down to the substrate. The smaller green mess is for my ground cover. I still gotta think of antoher way to help the other moss grow on driftwood since I hate tying and gluing.

Maybe wrap a bit on to the log with the mesh?

Well my stuff from Big Al's arrived today. So I got the filter, power head, and electronic thermometer. While messing with the canister (Quiet but a PAIN IN THE A** TO SET UP!) I placed my glass top on my bed. Well I got frustrated with the filter trying to get the priming cap off that when I sat down I sat right on my $40 glass top breaking it. I had little shards of glass on my bed and spent 30 minites vacumming the crap up. So i'm pretty pissed off at that since I can't buy another one till I get paid. :(

So right now my top is a peice of plexiglass that isnt cut right and a POS light I had downstairs.

Im still really bumed out about that top. Atleast the powerhead andfilter are super quiet.
