1000 gallon comunal tank

My husband regularly goes in our tank to do maintenance and glass cleaning. While he can't swim around in it, at 6' high, the water would be over his head, so he drops about 600 gallons before he goes in. He manually cleans the glass because at 3/4" thick, it is tough to find magnets big enough to work without paying an arm and a leg for them. The fish are all used to him being in there and pretty much ignore him while he works.

could i suggest sumthin, if u really want a strong magnet( a really strong one that might crush ur finger if u put it between them), tell ur husband to take like broken computer hardrive, and take it apart and it should contain a pair of magnets that are powerful, and maybe modify ur algae scraper with those magnets.

ya, they are POWERFUL, it took me whole 30 minutes to separate them,
and i still couldnt do it, but since the hard drive was a broken one it, i jus put it in without proper installation and put it in the garbage.
