Call me crazy, but I have a method I found to work for me, and its much faster than the bucket method. (at least it was for me, individual results may vary depending on how many helping hands you have) I held a pillow case with maybe 10-15 lbs of sand in it at a time, and had my gf spraying a hose into the sand and stirring it with her hands. This helped to rinse out most of the tiny particles which would otherwise be floating in the water and make it look hazy. Once I got the sand in the tank and I filled it up, I then covered some filter pads for my emperor 400 in pantyhose and let that run as it was for 24 hours. Crystal clear and no problems since.
